The Week Of Sleep

Since March 4, 2008, I have been sick. I got the Respiratory Syncytial Virus or RSV. Last week, I was careless taking care of myself I believe I got sick again with cough and congestion. Throughout my sickness, I have been tired, tired, and tired. Fatigued, fatigued, and fatigued. I wonder if the Daylight Savings Time three weeks earlier made my sickness worst on Tuesday March 11? I worked at home Monday March 10 to Thursday March 13. I worked half days Wednesday March 19-Friday March 21. Drinking warm water and eating chocolate controlled my cough and helps me sleep.

It’s time for action. Starting yesterday, I did stretches and sit-ups. Tomorrow and Wednesday, I’m going to the gym to do very light workouts walking on the treadmill and stationary bike. I start on weights when I feel better. And I devote extra hours to sleep. I read less and delay any activities and nighttime errands to next week. It’s the week of sleep and anytime I have free time, I’m lying down in bed (-,-)

My goal is to recover and to feel alive. My mood has been empty during my sickness. I’m aware it’s a short-term phase and I’m going to be myself again. And I better because my department’s Q3 FY08 report is coming up and I can’t have a negative attitude.

Wear Pajamas In Your Residence

Pajamas is clothing to wear when going to sleep. For me, I like to wear pajamas when I'm home. In other words, I wear my pajamas in bed or out of bed. Pajamas must be comfortable because people must be comfortable to sleep. I like to relax and be comfortable in my house. Wearing slacks or dress pants feels wrong such that I feel like I'm outdoors or working or shopping. Pajamas is the ultimate clothing to wear in the house or apartment. My house clothing is pajamas pants and a white t-shirt. If the days are cold, I also wear a sweatshirt. If the days are hot, I wear non-dress shorts such as swimming trunks.

What if I have guests? If they're friends, then I wear my pajamas. If they're family and guests, then I wear my outdoor wear. Wearing pajamas in the house is no sign I'm or anybody is a home person who stays at home and rarely goes outside.

Do you want to maximize your comfort level in your house or apartment? Wear pajamas. You feel lose and comfortable when you walk around, sit down, and lie down. Also, in case food or drink accidentally spills on you, it's your pajamas and not your good outdoor clothing.

The Reminder Timer

Yesterday morning at 11:10am, my Dad asked me to record a show at 11:30am. My Dad and Mom attended a fair. I was looking over my 2007 taxes checking for errors. I thought I found an error so I looked at my past tax returns. At 1:00pm, I realized I forgot to record the show. I was angry. My mind was focused on my tax returns.

I created The Reminder Timer to prevent me forgetting any short-term favors, activities, or schedules on the same day someone asks or tells me. The Reminder Timer is a kitchen timer, one of those wined up 60 minute timers. Any other timer can be used. Next to the timer is a piece of paper written with what I’m supposed to do. I labeled the kitchen timer “The Reminder Timer” from a post-it note. When the timer goes off, I look at the piece of paper, and stop what I’m doing and I complete what I’m supposed to do. No more forgetting.
