I Got Stuff Done Because I Didn't Play Video Games

I'm bored. I'm not bored in a bad way as if I lack motivation. I'm bored in a good way because I completed all tasks. Priorities are accomplished. I'm caught up. There are no new books to read. I plan to buy books on the next free day. I watched the NBA Finals Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics. There are no outstanding blogs. The latest physical workouts are completed. Cooking is done for today and tomorrow. Life skills reviewed. My job skills training is ongoing. There is no rush to finish the big projects. I expect multiple days to learn.

Full Disclosure

I'm retired from playing video games; however, I have been playing classic video games for the first time because of the free time due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The last video game I played was Call Of Duty: World At War on Mar 2022. The last video game I completed was Final Fantasy VIII on Feb 2022. I completed Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII. I played video games in the past. I play video games in the future. I play no video games in the present.

Update On A Past Blog

I wrote another blog on video games titled Video Games Are A Depression on Jul 14, 2021. There's nothing wrong with video games as a leisure activity. Nobody must believe video games cures depression. Nobody must believe video games makes people happy. Video games can be addicting. The depressed person plays video games to be happy. No happiness. The person continues to be depressed. The person plays more video games. The cycle repeats.

I challenge the depressed video gamer to stop playing video games for two weeks. Get up and do something, anything. My suggestions are sleep more hours, eat healthier, learn a new skill, and review an existing skill. Get motivated.

The Greatest Human Generation Doomed Their Grandchildren And The Future Thereafter

Today's blog is an update on a past blog.

Update On A Past Blog

My answer is yes to the blog and the question Did The Greatest Human Generation Doom Their Grandchildren And Their Future? written on Mar 14, 2019. I said the fathers and grandfathers of the greatest generation didn't teach their successes to their offspring because there was no time. There are more reasons more humans living in today's Information Age are screwed. I repeat what I wrote in the first blog: I'm not a historian. I'm not an anthropologist. I'm not a sociologist. Today's blog is based on my intuition. The greatest human generation made life easy today. Perhaps they made life too easy.

I see more weak people. I see more people working easier. I see people being too dependent on others or being less resilient. There's no reason to be stronger, work harder, and learn by trial-and-error. There are fewer opportunities. The requirements are too hard. There's no reason to make an effort. Moreover, today's too easy life more younger people are entitled. Motivation is poor. Desire is weak. More parents fail to teach success. More parents choose the path of least resistance because they are too busy with their own success.

I predict the following problems become worst. Today's young generation must not blame themselves. It's not their fault. Blame the parents and the past generation. The problems are ignored. The problems are wishful thinking hoping the problems solve themselves. The problems are kicked down the road.

*Pandemic. There is another pandemic.
*Loneliness. The percentage of lonely people increase indefinitely.
*Economic Inequality. The rich gets richer.
*Costs Of Living. Prices increase.
*Economic Problems. There are more recessions.
*Climate Change. The world is getting warmer.
*Personal Finance. More people are in debt.
*Job Search. More people are long-term unemployed.
*Mass Shooting. More people die from criminals shooting multiple victims.
*Population. There are too many people living on planet Earth.
*Screens. More people play video games, watch TV, and communicate on social media.
*Mental Health. Depression, anxiety, fear, drug use, and alcoholics increase.
*Physical Health. More people become obese.
*Intelligence. The average human intelligent quotient or IQ decreases.

My Thoughts On The Golden State Warriors Won The 2022 NBA Finals

Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors winning the 2022 NBA Finals defeating the Boston Celtics 4-2. The Warriors are the 2021-2022 NBA Champions. The Warriors won four out of the last eight NBA Finals. The previous NBA Finals championships are 2015, 2017, and 2018. I share my thoughts.

*Egos are checked at the door. All professional athletes have egos. The Warriors play for the team.

*1+1+1=3. I wrote the math formula one superstar plus good coaching plus good management or good ownership equals a championship at There's An A In Overachieving on Oct 11, 2020. The formula applies to the Warriors with Stephen Curry, head coach Steve Kerr, and primary owner Joe Lacob.

*The core remains with Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala since 2015. Curry was drafted in 2009. Thompson was drafted in 2011. Green was drafted in 2012.

*Health, strength, conditioning, and injuries are factors. One can say the odds favor the team winning the war on attrition.

*Timing and luck are factors, too. Be honest.

*The ownership lead by Lacob and Peter Guber invested in a new arena. The old arena Oracle Arena was outdated. The ownership purchased 12 acres in the Mission Bay neighborhood in San Francisco on Oct 2015. JPMorgan Chase purchased the naming rights naming the arena Chase Center on Jan 2016. Construction began on Jan 2017. The arena was financed privately. No public money was involved.

The Warriors played their first game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct 24, 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic suspended the 2019-2020 NBA Season. No games played at Chase Center for the rest of the season. No fans attended or limited fans attended the 2020-2021 season.

Ownership persevered the COVID-19 pandemic. The Warriors won the 2021-2022 season. Congratulations to the ownership. You won a championship at Chase Center. You won the bet. Chase Center is a cash cow with the addition of tournaments, concerts, and theaters.

*Identify talent. Develop the young players. Teach them. Mentor them. The draft picks Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, James Wiseman, Kevon Looney, and Jordan Poole either are key players today or potential key players tomorrow. General Manager Bob Myers didn't acquire a veteran or an all-star by trading their young players. Management and the coaching staff believed in the young players for the playoffs.

*The light bulbs turned on for Andrew Wiggins and Looney. They understood what they needed to do.

*I can't confirm Curry played golf after the Game 1 loss. There was nothing new to learn. No changes were needed. Curry might as well play golf to relax.

*Kerr benched Green in the fourth quarter of Game 4. Kerr switched Poole for offensive sequences and Green for defensive sequences. The coaching decision changed the NBA Finals to favor the Warriors.

Play the game. The coach makes coaching decisions with the flow. Every game is different. Play a different card from a stack of cards depending on the game flow.

*The Celtics focused their defense on Curry for Game 5. The Celtics sold on Curry's offensive shooting. There were no problems for the Warriors. Other teammates stepped up providing the offense. The Warriors won Game 5 taking a 3-2 series lead.

*The Celtics are a young team with championship potential. I expect the Celtics to be back in the NBA Finals. There are missing puzzle pieces. The Celtics need a point guard and a veteran off the bench. The Celtics need more strength training and conditioning. The players must learn to communicate better.

*I connect the dots backwards. The Warriors scored 21 consecutive points which was the longest scoring run in an NBA Finals over the last 50 years in Game 6 on the road. The game was over. The series was over. Pic credit Bleacher Report.

Thur Jun 23, 2022 was the first day of the 2022 NBA Draft. The Warriors drafted Patrick Baldwin, Jr., forward, Milwaukee, with the 28th overall pick. Follow Your Deal Makers And Deal Breakers Finding Love

An Apr 15, 2021 celebrity headline stated singer Jennifer Lopez and former baseball player Alex Rodriguez broke up their two-year wedding engagement. The couple were together for four years dating on Mar 2017 and engaged for two years starting on Mar 2019. Multiple sources stated the couple "hit a rough patch." Multiple sources also stated Lopez couldn't trust Rodriguez. The couple struggled for which the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated some of the problems. Lopez was quoted they tried to make the relationship work.

They broke up in the end. The sad side is a broken relationship. The good times are over. The memories are the past happy or sad. The grieving begins. Lopez and Rodriguez are single again. They go back to their square one dating people.

The happy side is Lopez and Rodriguez are free to find someone else who matches each of them. They find a better match. They find a stronger match. Mismatch relationships rarely work long-term. Be honest. Follow truth identity. Practice true personality.

There is giving and taking in relationships. There is compromise. Regardless, follow your deal makers. Follow your deal breakers. If you marry someone with deal breakers, those deal breakers affect your relationship in time. Truth becomes reality after the honeymoon phase.

Most relationships don't work. Nobody needs to be a relationship expert to know most relationships never last. All couples experience slowdowns and conflicts. Choose either happy being single or miserable in a relationship--especially, a mismatch relationship. Give it time. Misery is inevitable in a mismatch relationship. End a relationship with deal breakers. Cut the losses. Move on. Save time. Time is the ultimate judge.

The rearranging is when the dealer confuses the player to select the incorrect card. The player selects one of the three cards. If the player correctly identifies the money card, the player wins. Allergies And Coughs April 2022

I got sick in April 2022. The last time I got sick was in Nov 2018 Allergies And Coughs November 2018. I was sick free for a personal record 1,236 days or approximately 41 months from Nov 24, 2018 to Apr 13, 2022. I blog how I treated myself and the likely causes because I want to reference my treatment the next time I get sick. No panic. Obvious symptoms. Minimal pain. Quick recovery.

Wed Apr 13, 2022. Sore throat developing. My mom told me her sore throat started three days ago. Allergies were possible. Air was dry. Humidity at 40%.

Thur Apr 14. Full sore throat. Runny nose. My initial diagnosis is allergies. Ear thermometer 97.8 degrees Fahrenheit. No fever. If I experienced a fever, then I took a COVID-19 test. I wore a Breathe Right nasal strip while I slept.

Fri Apr 15. I took a Zyrtec at 10:50am. I craved for food. My ears popped open a little.

Sat Apr 16. I took a Zyrtec at 12:30pm. Congestion, mucus flowed down my throat, and minimal coughing. I applied skin lotion on my dried skin nose before I went to sleep. I continued Breathe Right nasal strips throughout my sickness.

Sun Apr 17. I took a Zyrtec at 1:00pm. I continued cold showers. I ate chocolate to control my cough. Sore throat improved with minimal pain when I swallowed. If I didn't drink Coke for lunch and dinner, then my throat acted up with mucus and coughing.

Mon Apr 18. I took a Zyrtec at 2:10pm. Best sleep last night. I coughed briefly when I ate breakfast. I coughed out one phlegm. I drank Coke for lunch only. I ate chocolate throughout the day. I applied skin lotion on my dried skin nose for the third consecutive night.

Tue Apr 19. I took a Zyrtec at 4:15pm. Ears still plugged up. The morning mucus down my throat was the worse throughout my sickness. I felt optimistic recovery was quick as long as I slept well. Most of the rare and inconsistent coughs were in the afternoon and early evenings. Ears improved significantly in the afternoon. The night was warm 57 degrees at 9:41pm. The low was forecasted at 49 degrees.

Wed Apr 20. I took a Zyrtec at 4:15pm. Cold morning. Throat most active during my sickness phlegm flowed down my throat causing coughs. I woke up the earliest because I might feel cold. Daytime high 70 degrees. Coughs subsided as the day progressed.

Thur Apr 21. I took a Zyrtec at 4:30pm. Coughed two times for the entire day. There was a big ear pop in the early afternoon which opened my ears. I slept quickly.

Fri Apr 22. I took my last Zyrtec at 4:30pm. My throat felt like a second sore throat. No coughing. Lower amount of phlegm down my throat More times my ears popped out.

How Did I Get Sick?

My mom. My mom was sick three days before I got sick. Probability: 90%.

In the air. The air felt funny when I breathe in and breathe out during my last jog before I got sick. Probability: 25%.

Update On A Past Blog

I want to mention the specific day I wrote Seven Thousand Dollars 1998 Mentality In 2022 on May 31, 2022. I wrote the blog on Tue Apr 19, 2022 and posted on Tue May 31, 2022. My sickness inspired me to write the blog because 2022 year-to-date has the year 2008 and year 2009 feelings. In addition, I took a two week break from job training and I took one and a half week break from physical training.

The sickness was an opportunity for a distraction. I wrote The Best Life Time Out Or Distraction Is Being Sick on Nov 15, 2012. It was a time out. My body told me to recover.

Feel Your Burden And Your Lover's Burden

I speak for most couples dating. I speak for most couples as fiancees. I speak for most couples as husbands and wives. I speak for most couples as lifetime partners. Friends are included--I speak for circles of friends. We are a burden to some degree little or big. We are a burden to ourselves to some degree little or big. Overweight and unhealthy. Short-temper. Slow learner. Bad cook. Loud talker. Unemployed. Obsessed with cats. Smoker. Drives too fast. Too quiet. Snorer. Hates music. Impolite. The list is infinite.

Nobody is perfect. Is the tolerance of one person a tolerant match for the other person? Different tolerances for different people. Different strokes for different folks. Patience, acceptance, and matching are important for a long-lasting relationship. Can't handle the burden? Close the chapter. End the relationship. Cut the losses. Can you make an effort to reduce burden to yourself and to others? Take a deep breath. You can contribute to the world there's one less burdensome troubled person.

End It Now

My dad and I went to my nephew's graduation from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts on Feb 2018. My mom couldn't attend because she was sick. All local dens attended. The ceremony took place at an elementary school's multi-purpose room. The day and time were a weekday evening when the parents were out of work and their children were out of school. An outsider expected everyone to be happy on a childhood memory.

On the contrary, almost everyone wanted to go home. All of the parents were fatigued. All of the parents faked smiles and faked enthusiasm. The food provided were pizza, potato chips, candy, and soda. Poor food choices to keep people awake. Some parents must have thought, "Where's the coffee?" Most of the kids lost focus for which they frolic around. Some older Boy Scouts forgot their cues when accepting new Boy Scouts members. The event was rushed towards the end. The school custodians urged parents to speed up the ceremony at the 9pm mark.

I blamed nobody wanting to end it now. Tonight was a school night. Any unfinished homework must be completed. Dinner must be served. Pizza, potato chips, candy, and soda were not dinner. The parents prepared the children for bed. Some working parents might have unfinished assignments for work. All working parents lost sleep hours for the night; moreover, many working parents thought about work during the ceremony. Families made big adjustments for the night affecting tomorrow and the rest of the week. Welcome to today's rapid family lifestyle.
