Throwback Blog: Yes Slow Down

Blogger’s Note: Throwback blogs are blogs from my past. I start posting past blogs reflecting what I wrote. It's like my "A Second Look" blogs for which I give myself feedback.

Today's throwback blog is titled Yes Slow Down in Oct 2015. The timing is good to remind humanity to slow down. Take a breath. The world is complex. We're human. We mustn't expect to complete everything satisfactory. There are going to be misses. There are times we must say "no." Get extra sleep. It's summer time. Take a break. It's time to take a vacation. I can't say it any more clearer. Slow down.

The world is tired. Exhausted. Fatigued. The information age is making us live too fast in today's history. Nobody needs to be a sleeping expert to know lack of sleep lowers productivity physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Nobody needs to be a medical doctor to know too much caffeine can cause future medical problems. Why do many of us choose to live a fast pace life? Money? Success? Just because many people are living a fast pace life doesn't mean you must join them.

Slow down. We get more done slowing down. Fewer errors. More relaxed. We help other people slowing down; in contrast, we help fewer people speeding up. Let's complete our responsibilities one at a time. The person who invented multi-tasking is an idiot. The reality is nobody multi-tasks. The best workers complete their assignments one at a time. Work more intelligently.

Obey your body when it tells you to sleep. Everyone should sleep healthy from head to toe. Avoid long-term medical problems sleeping more hours. The information age can help us fall asleep; for instance, I use the Calm Radio app's Sleep Channel to listen to music or the Relax Melodies app to listen to sounds. If the task at hand can wait, then complete the task tomorrow. The world isn't ending tomorrow.

Is the stress worth it? I see people when I leave the house making unnecessary mistakes. I see people stressing out the smallest problems. I see people losing focus. I see people driving recklessly. I see people overreacting. I see people's body language saying I want out or I don't want to do this. I see people losing their professional attitude. I see people desperate for sleep, and most of them sleep for a little bit.

The world wants everyone to slow down. Take a breath. There's a chain effect. The more people who relax, the more people experience less stress, the world is more at peace. Think intelligently to live a life with less stress. Live intelligently to live a life with more sleep.

Computer Programmers Numbers Lists In Text Files

I'm learning Python. I share text files of numbers. The file name denotes how the numbers are delimited or separated. Rename the text file deleting the COMMA, TAB, or SPACE. There are prime numbers, pentagonal numbers, and odd composite numbers as of today's blog post. Direct link to download https://github.com/raymondmar61/numbers.

Life Is Xs and Os

Life is Xs and Os or the letter Xs and circles. Life connects people with others with many Xs. Life comes full circle. Anything people do today affects other people. Anything people do today affects the future one minute later, 12 hours later, one day later, one year later, decades later, etc. We rarely think about our actions at the moment. All little actions affect the future. All big actions affect the future.

For instance, I'm writing today's blog at home. I can be driving running errands. I can be in an accident. I can find an unadvertised sale in a grocery store. I can meet a new friend at the gas station. I can meet an old friend from college. I can watch a baseball game in a ball park. Another person can be in an accident since I'm home. Someone else buys the entire stock of an item on an unadvertised sale in a grocery store. I never meet a new friend at the gas station. I missed a chance to meet an old friend from college. Somebody else purchased my ticket at the ball park. There are moments every second. There are instances every second.

Every breath we take something happens good and bad. We hope favorable timing and good luck brings good fortune. On the other hand, we hope favorable timing and good luck minimizes bad fortune. Everyone has bad days. We hope we live more good days than bad days. Unfortunately, there are people living more bad days than good days. People affects other people's good days. People affects other people's bad days.

Everything we do today life finds a way to come back to us. The answers we find come back to us. Life coming back to us in a circle may seem too simple. The late Steve Jobs said it best, "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards." Connecting the dots backwards is completing life full circle. Reading books, learning new job skills, exercising four days a week, minimize eating processed foods, avoiding people wasting my time, and sleeping eight hours a night are actions I hope come full circle. When is the full circle complete? I don't know. What are the outcomes? I don't know. Who are the new friends I meet? I don't know. How do I know what I'm doing today makes a difference for me and for other people tomorrow? I don't know. Why am I living my life this way? I don't know.

Some Men Who Are Losers Makes All Men Losers

There is a common knowledge two people in a serious relationship both people should be winners. In particular, a woman should date a good man. The definition of a good man is subjective. Every woman has a different definition who they want to date. Intuitively, a good man is smart, kind, strong, courageous, open, and practices good social skills. Women must avoid loser men. Women must avoid dating a loser hoping he becomes a winner. If the woman is dating a potential winner, then the wait time for a loser to become a winner is subjective. Almost all losers continue to be losers. It's sad. Read my Top Ten Men Truths men I wrote on Jan 2017 to acquire knowledge how to be a winner. A winner attracts people.

Moreover, the attitudes dating men are changing. A kind, polite, and nice man were the top qualities to date. A man with a job, drives his own car, and lives with freedom are added to the top qualities.

Trust Time And Trust Life

Today's blog is a simple philosophy on time and on life. Maybe everything happens for a reason. Maybe every event happens for a reason. Maybe every moment happens for a reason. Everyone in the world and everything in the world interacts. There are connections. What one person does make a difference. What one person does affect another person. What one person does may be insignificant one day. Tomorrow may be the day what one person does affect someone or something else significantly. The reason is found in time. The answer comes soon.

The world has been complicated. More time is required to make the complicated easier. Ironic. Take life one day at a time. Increment. Patience is a virtue.

Some people have good moments. Some people have bad moments. We hope for the best. The two things every living being must trust are life and time. Nobody wins 100% of the time. There are winners. There must be losers for winners. It's life. We hope none of us are the losers. Trust life and trust time we become winners. Never give up. Give hard work time. Stay strong. Stay courageous. Accept life is unfair. We hope at the minimum we're winners at least 51% of the time. Some people are losers at least 51% of the time.

In addition, every living being must trust timing. A person met his or her future spouse at the right place at the right time. A car is hit at the wrong place at the wrong time by another car failing to stop at a red signal light. Every living being must trust luck. People who play board games understand luck is a factor. People who follow sports understand luck is a factor.

There are four things every living being must trust: life, time, timing, and luck. The definitions of winners and losers are subjective of course. In conclusion, life is not perfect. We hope tomorrow brings a perfect moment. We hope life brings a big break to change our lives.

Side note: It's okay to eat a chocolate on occasion.

Eat Your Apples

A random thought appeared in my head. I remember my freshmen year in high school during the lunch hour a few of my friends purchased school lunches. The lunches included a fruit. My friends threw away the fruit in the basketball courts. It was wrong my friends wasted fruit. It was wrong my friends littered the high school campus. There have been people struggling financially to provide food for themselves and/or their families. The problem existed decades ago when I was a teenager. The problem exists today. I feel sad and I feel angry thinking about the high school moment. Wasting food is a pet peeve. Don't waste food.

Update On A Past Blog

One negative going back to school attending De Anza College in 2009-2011 was missing business intelligence or BI. I recently learned BI started in 2010. I wonder if I didn't attend De Anza College, then I introduced myself to BI. I'm catching up what I missed job skill wise learning BI. De Anza College was my 2010 moment of the year from my blog Moment Of The Years on Jan 2016. Here's a link to my De Anza College review: My All De Anza Review Blog on Dec 2012.

Also, I shared a story finding my wife from my blog I Need More Stories on Apr 2018. I'm behind in life. I add learning job skills to catch up what I missed.

My Two Grandfathers

I washed pots and pans one day inspired me to blog my grandfather on my mom's side. My family visited my grandfather's house when I was a child. He consistently kept his house clean and organized. He cleaned all messes. He washed all dishes. He set up the dining room table before the meals. He cooked all the meals. Anything disorganized was reorganized by him. He had all the free time in the world for which he could behave lazy. He made a choice to think of his guests. He committed his home was comfortable for all of his family members. I look forward to maintain my residence like my grandfather which is clean and organized. I look forward to welcome all guests to my residence feeling comfortable.

Everyone visited the cemetery when one of my uncle's family visited for the 2017 Christmas holiday inspired me to blog my grandfather on my dad's side. My grandfather was average intelligent. On the other hand, his financial knowledge was above average. He set up my father and my two uncles never worry about money problems. He taught his three sons financial education which includes investments, savings, and discretion spending. I repeat. He taught his three sons financial education. His family was financially stable. His future family is financially stable. I promise my grandfather I invest wisely, save intelligently, and spend discretionally. I promise my grandfather I continue my financial education to live financially stable. I take none of my grandfather's financial stability for granted.

My two grandfathers worked hard to take care of their families. Much respect. Much recognition. Much appreciation.

Update On A Past Blog

I was sick with allergies and coughs on Jan 2018 and Apr 2018. My mouth infection was Angular Cheilitis on Apr-May 2018. I wrote a blog The Best Life [Timeout] Or Distraction Is Being Sick on Nov 2012. My Jan 2018 sickness I took a short timeout. On the other hand, my Apr 2018 sickness I took a full distraction. The recovery for Jan 2018 was longer than Apr 2018. I should have taken a full timeout in Jan 2018. No timeout or distraction was needed for my Angular Cheilitis. I took a full timeout when I was an impatient at O'Connor Hospital needing two surgeries on Apr 2017. The first surgery removed gallstones or Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP). The second surgery removed my gallbladder or Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.
