Update On A Past Blog

The number one makes a difference scene> Bull Durham- Best Scene reminds me of the blog Today I Want To Talk About The Numbers Greater Than Zero And Less Than Or Equal To One written on Jun 17, 2020. Percentages make a difference. 20% increase. 20% decrease. A few percentage points is the difference between *fill in the blank one* and *fill in the blank two*.

I wrote past life lessons blogs. Here are two of my favorites. The first favorite is Top Ten Life Lessons I Learned Watching Sports written on Nov 5, 2016. Some of the lessons include curses are meant to be broken, be professional, and be calm. There are multiple updates on a past blog adding more lessons to the blog which include luck, circumstances, and talent are factors to succeed as a professional athlete; don't waste time thinking about something making no sense; and winning solves problems.

The second favorite is Life Lessons From Space Brothers written on Aug 17, 2015. Space Brothers is my second all-time favorite anime series. Some of the lessons include it's faster to just do it, veterans help newbies, find one interesting think to lose track of time, improve failures, and teamwork.

Twenty Random Blogs Aug 2025

Blogger's note: I increase the number of random blogs from ten to twenty.

Here are twenty random blogs in order of randomly chosen. Duplicate blogs are allowed from past random blogs. There are no duplicates today. The previous random blogs are Ten Random Blogs Jul 2020 on Jul 31, 2020, Ten Random Blogs Aug 2021 on Aug 13, 2021, and Ten Random Blogs Apr 2023 on Apr 16, 2023. Update remarks are included.

1. Watch Wall Street (Sep 26, 2005). I shared my activities before and on Sep 26, 2005.

Update remark: Wall Street is one of my all time favorite movies.

2. Never Stop Learning Lesson Emphasized Because One Of The Shermans Past Away (May 05, 2017). The Shermans was a couple who lived in the neighborhood for decades. They moved to the eastern USA to be closer to their families. The husband past away. The wife passed away in Jul 2017.

The lessons I learned continue today. Never stop learning. Find new experiences to experience. Don't waste life watching television eight hours a day. Some seniors choose the sedentary life watching too much television.

Update remark: Rest in peace Bob and Alice.

3. Three Hours Of Me Time Weekdays (Feb 08, 2013). I wrote my life working Mon to Fri from 9am to 6pm. Wake up, go to work, work at the company building, go home, and sleep eight hours. Three hours of personal time remain. Repeat.

Update remark: No full time worker sleeps eight hours a night on weeknights. More workers lose concentration, act grumpy, feel weaker, and make more mistakes. No full time worker spares three hours of personal time. There are too many responsibilities in today's Information Age. A worker must complete an hour's work in 30 minutes.

A balanced life doesn't exist. The successful people don't live a balanced life to become successful.

4. Throwback Blog: I'm No Longer Nice (Aug 27, 2016). I reuploaded a previous blog be a good person. Don't be a nice person.

Update remark: I posted an I'm No Longer Nice blog update on Aug 21, 2025 Keep Going In Life. I added, "Being extra nice doesn't result in extra rewards. It's not aloofness does pay. It's niceness doesn't pay."

5. It's Okay To Live At Home (Jun 18, 2013). I wrote valid reasons sons and daughters live at home with their parents. Sons and daughters must not take for granted living at home. Sons and daughters must continue living their lives to the best of their abilities.

Update remark: The blog is 100% true today.

6. Shelter In-Place COVID-19 Blog February 2023 (Mar 05, 2023). California ended the pandemic state of emergency on Feb 28, 2023. It was the start of loosening restrictions and mask mandates.

Update remark: None.

7. Highlight and Favorite 2019 Tweets (Dec 30, 2020). My favorite Tweets in 2019. I share my top favorites:

Tweets

Jan 21: A conversation starter. Ask the question, "What keeps you busy?"

Jul 28: I'm not dumbing down. Never dumb down your life. Don't be an asshole for yourself. Don't let people drag you down. Nobody holds your back.

Jul 28: These people must leave your life. People come and go for good or for bad. Some people leave your life. New people enter your life.

Sep 22: I just finished watching The Shawshank Redemption. My high school and college friend watched the movie when it was released in theaters. It was the most boring movie he watched. He didn't understand the point. I avoided the movie.

Sep 22: I choose to watch the movie decades later. Good movie. Recommended. The movie is slow. I put the pieces together watching the movie without success.

Sep 22: My friend is correct up to the climax of the movie. It's the best full circle movie I have ever watched. Stick around. Don't give up. Have hope. The pieces are together. Good things can happen.

Sep 25: The female middle school student was wise beyond her years. RT @BoyYeetsWorld: one time in middle school i dated a girl for 4 days and when she broke up with me she posted on facebook sometimes your knight in shining armor is really just a loser in tinfoil and to this day that the sickest burn I've ever gotten.

Update remark: None.

10. Top 2018 Pics (Dec 17, 2019). My favorite pics posted in 2018. I share my top favorites:

11. Thought Provoking Information (Sep 03, 2017). A pics blog. The pic which inspired the title is below.

Update remark: None

12. My First Pop Tart (Sep 12, 2007). I ate a pop tart for the first time in my life. It was strawberry and strawberry with icing.

Update remark: No more pop tarts in my diet. I rarely drink milk. I stopped eating oatmeal in 2018.

13. De Anza Week Nov 15, 2010 (Nov 18, 2010). I went back to school to earn an AA degree in Accounting. I blogged one week during Winter Quarter 2010 at De Anza College. The week consisted of students and instructors with too much on their minds and too fatigued.

Update remark: They were the same yesterday. They are the same today.

14. First Time I Saw A Restaurant Close On Tuesdays (Dec 09, 2018). I said it best. "2018 is over. I wanted to try a restaurant in another city for the first time. I was in the area on Tue Dec 4. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Are you serious? The event summed my recent life. Bad luck. Bad timing." The blog continued expressing my frustration 2018 was the year everything went wrong.

Update remark: I have not experienced another 2018. I have not let life take control of me.

15. I Own 15 Pairs Of Shoes (Jan 28, 2021). I posted pics of my 15 pair of shoes. They include exercise, boots, formal, and casual outdoors.

Update remark: None

16. A Procedure To Stop Insanity (Sep 09, 2021). A life wisdom. Everyone is different. Everything is different. Birds of a feather flock together. Different folks for different strokes. There are matches. There are mismatches. A circle can't fit in a square peg.

Update remark: Live your life who, what, where, how, and I match who you are.

17. Lonely And Cheerful (Jul 24, 2007). I felt lonely and depressed in Jul 2007. I didn't feel cheerful. False optimism.

Update remark: The 2007 Summer Sabbatical failed. I did everything wrong. I admit I made a mistake. 2007 should have been one of the best years of my life. 2007 was one of the worst years of my life.

18. Throwback Blog: SOMT: Kodak Declares Bankruptcy (Sep 30, 2017). Toys R Us declared bankruptcy on Sep 19, 2017 which inspired the throwback blog on Kodak declared bankruptcy. The throwback blog was a brief explanation of the Kodak bankruptcy and my experiences using a film camera and a digital camera.

Update remark: Mismanagement, Amazon and Wal-Mart, and poor customer service are not the top reasons Toys R Us declared bankruptcy.

19. Work Mar 8, 2014 (Mar 08, 2014). I blogged the highlights when I worked in a retail start up. Dermatitis on my hands. Refusing a shipment. Both store locations short-handed. Purchased my first bottle of wine Raymond Cabernet Sauvignon "Generations" 2009. Wi-Fi problems.

Update remark: The dermatitis on my hands turned out to be a dirty workstation. I cleaned my workstation. No more dermatitis. I still own my Raymond wine bottle.

No smart person works in retail. Desperate smart people do work in retail.

20. Go To Sleep With A Smile (Oct 21, 2011). I was called for jury duty. I didn't get selected. The prospective jurors answering personal questions during the selection process convinced me my life is good. I sleep with a smile.

Update remark: Domestic violence can be a lifelong trauma. Some people you see when shopping are victims of crimes.

Keep Going In Life

I look at my Facebook friend's list. I identify all my friends who attended my high school. Most of them were smart. They enrolled in honor classes. They enrolled in Advanced Placement classes. They were active after school such as sports, arts, and volunteering.

Fast forward decades later. Most of the smart high school Facebook friends are no longer smart. I'm the better person today. I'm smarter. I'm stronger. Why? They stop learning. They settle down. I have been catching up what I missed. I surpass some of them. I continue to catch up. I continue to exceed any expectations. I surpass more of them in time.

Don't quit. Never stop learning. Never stop innovating. Innovate infinitely.

Update On A Past Blog

aloof: not friendly or forthcoming; distant; disinterested.

I wrote a blog on Mar 9, 2010 titled I'm No Longer Nice. I stopped being nice. Nice guys do finish last. Niceness has limits. Niceness is more finite. I started being good. Good guys do finish first. Goodness has fewer limits. Goodness is less finite.

Moreover, being extra nice doesn't result in extra rewards. It's not aloofness does pay. It's niceness doesn't pay. Being extra nice is unlikely to change people's minds. Almost all of the time people's minds are decided.

Top Ten Plus Three Equals Top Thirteen Reasons Life Has Always Been Me

"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something--your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." --Steve Jobs

I've been the correct choice. It was always me. Life has been all me. Everything was me. The self-training paid off. I connect the dots backwards. I made good choices. I did it correctly. I continue making mistakes learning anything new. I continue committing mistakes when I aim high and miss. I achieved mature adulthood at the age of 45. I get it. I understand five years before age 50. I realized all since Sep 2019.

Nobody told me my path to success is correct. Nobody taught me a system. I self-discovered my system. The system is common knowledge and common wisdom: eat healthy, exercise, read books, sleep well, never stop learning, learn from mistakes, always meet new people, minimize watching TV, and ignore anything toxic. I hope timing, luck, chance, and opportunity favors me. Here are the top ten plus three equals top thirteen reasons life has always been me.

13. Be Patient And Go For The Long Run. I thought of the "be patient and go for the long run" when I was a student at San Jose State University. The wisdom was correct. The attitude was correct. The adaption was incorrect. The execution was incorrect. I did it wrong. College life was too much fun and too little learning.

I lived a false sense of getting everything done quickly. It worked in my 20s and early 30s. Somehow my quick life was successful quickly. I didn't have to be patient. I started on something. I completed it quickly.

The patience is back today. I'm doing the "be patient and go for the long run" correctly decades later. Work. Give everything time. Take everything one day at a time. Build a little every day. Add the little accomplishments for the big goals.

12. Talk. Communicate. We have a mouth under the nose and above the chin. If quiet people or introverted people speak up 20% more, then they're going to be happier 20% or more.

People said I talked too much in the past. They didn't explain why. They didn't correct me. My self-discovery was poor self-esteem, seeking attention, nobody teaching me proper social conversations, and being ignorant. All problems fixed today.

11. Steve Jobs. I follow the wisdom of Steve Jobs. I understand the "Stay hungry, stay foolish" wisdom. Trust intuition. Never settle. Be brave making mistakes. We do judge a book by its cover.

"Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Um, once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."

10. Adulthood Preview In Ninth Grade. I studied hard. I spent more hours learning. I spent more hours practicing. Grit. I spent more hours exercising. I spent less hours watching television. The hard work paid off with good grades. I felt smart. I felt strong.

My adulthood was established. Hard work. Motivation. Focus. Strength. Intelligence. What about fun? The fun happened afterwards. I accepted the process. I accepted the challenge.

9. R.O.T.C. In High School. I took the U.S. Marines Reserve Officers Training Corps or R.O.T.C. in high school for three years. I learned leadership attributes and leadership skills. I also learned human relations rules.

8. Physical Fitness. I jog two days a week. I strength train two days a week. I'm the most healthiest I've ever been in my life. Exercising is not an excuse to eat unhealthy in moderation; in other words, exercising and eating unhealthy don't cancel. Exercise and eating healthy must be combined.

7. Read More Fiction Books Than Nonfiction Books. I learned more about life reading fiction books. It started in Oct 2008.

6. Clean And Organize. I self-taught myself how to vacuum, mop floors, clean toilets, and organize. Less stress where there is less clutter. More time saved where there is more organization. Routine maintenance is required to keep neatness. Work is required.

5. Take The Initiative. I admit I'm gun-shy when nothing happens. I know my position at the certain place and the certain time. I know my role in a social situation. I stay within my boundaries. Time is up. Action is required. I take the initiative. I'm successful sometimes. I'm not successful sometimes.

4. Self-job Training. The blog Self Job Training Graduation Analytics Research Technology written on Apr 19, 2024 explains everything. I passed the classes for data analysis or data science. YouTube videos, online education, books, articles, and online posts are my learning sources.

3. Be A Good Person. I'm getting stronger, smarter, kinder, and wiser. I'm not a nice guy. I'm a good guy. I continue catching up what I missed in the past. I'm experiencing new experiences. I'm seeking new adventures.

2. Desire Is More Important Than Knowledge. Practice, practice, learn from my mistakes, improve, progress, practice, practice, practice, . . . . "I will" is more important than "I know." The knowledge follows motivation doing something, anything. The rewards follow motivation when responsibilities are completed.

1. Growing Up. Sat Oct 4, 2008 changed my life forever. It was time to grow up. No more immaturity. No more taking life for granted. I'm responsible for my life.

Take The Chances Being Alone

There are many articles published during the COVID-19 global pandemic more people are living alone. More people live with fewer friends. People come and go in our lives. However, it's harder to meet new people. It's harder to find friends. More people are choosing to live alone. More people are choosing to live with minimal friends. More people are choosing to minimize their time with family.

My unprofessional and unscientific reason more people take their chances of being alone is average intelligence declining. More people are getting dumb. There are fewer strong people. There are fewer smart people. The strong people don't want to be with weak people. The smart people don't want to be with dumb people. They don't want to waste their time with other people who drag themselves down. If a person is making them feel dumb, then the person is out. No idiots in our lives. No morons in our lives. These alone people take their chances by themselves. Rational people avoid crazy, uncomfortable, and rude people. Minor Moby Dick by Herman Melville spoiler alert: "Better sleep with a sober cannibal than a drunken Christian."

The common answers work, too much technology making more people anti-social, family responsibilities, and depression are valid. I add lack of strength to the list of common answers people are alone. I add weak goodness to the list of common answers people are alone. Be a good person--don't be a nice person.

300 Revisited 2

Blogger's note: Today's blog is posted at both Innovating Common Knowledge and Finding Raymond Mar.

The number 300 references my 300th blog I wrote on Dec 7, 2008. I selected my top 30 blogs out of the first 300 blogs I wrote. 30. When you in a jam, go back to the basics.

I include a bonus. The lessons I learned attending De Anza College:

2. Go with the flow.
3. Timing is everything.
4. Use it or lose it.

*Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. "Curiosity killed the cat" is a proverb used to warn of the dangers of unnecessary investigation or experimentation. It also implies that being curious can sometimes lead to danger or misfortune. The original form of the proverb, now rarely used, was "Care killed the cat." In this instance, "care" was defined as "worry" or "sorrow for others."

There were multiple variations dating back to the origins. The earliest known printed modern version was Dec 23, 1912 from The Titusville Hearld Newspaper: . . . "Curiosity killed the cat, But satisfaction brought it back." . . . .

Wikipedia source: Curiosity killed the cat.

Throwback Blog: A Second Look At 2015

Blogger's Note: Throwback blogs are blogs from my past. I start posting past blogs reflecting what I wrote. It's like my "A Second Look" blogs for which I give myself feedback.

Today's throwback blog is titled A Second Look At 2015 written on Dec 17, 2016. These are the top 18 blogs in 2015. All of the feedbacks are true today. The general feedback for the feedbacks is I practice them today. An additional feedback for the feedback 4. A Sample Of Changes Everyday is I see more people losing natural beauty as they naturally age. I reiterate 6. I Define Self-Respect for which people with problems don't respect themselves. I remind responsible adults 14. Accept The Daily Adult Living. I could have slowed down multiple times during my Self Job Training Graduation Analytics Research Technology; on the other hand, it took me nine years and two months to complete. Regardless, 17. Yes Slow Down eat breakfast, eat lunch, eat dinner, sleep well, and pace accordingly are great to slow down.

It's the time I look back at my 2015 blogs to give myself feedback. The goal is the same as past second looks: relearning from my mistakes, reinforcing my lessons, reminding myself my moments, refreshing acquired knowledge, rediscovering new wisdom, and correcting errant blogs. These blogs are also the 2015 best blogs.

There are 18 blogs for A Second Look 2015. There were 17 blogs for A Second Look 2014 and 11 blogs for A Second Look 2013. These 18 blogs are spread throughout the year. The breakdown: Jan has 3, Feb has 1, Mar has 3, Apr 1, Jun 2, Jul 3, Aug 1, Oct 3, and Nov has 1. I continue my second looks in Dec because I want a full year to think about my past year.

I provide the title and link to the original blog, date, summary, and my feedback. Enjoy!

Blog Title: 1. Exercise Your Body From Head To Toe Inside And Outside

Blog Title: 2. My Spirituality Discovery
Date: Sunday January 11, 2015
Summary: Reading my personal bible once a week and sleeping seven nights a week are my spiritual discoveries.
Feedback: The next job my spiritual practice sleeping is a weekday priority. I admit I haven't read my personal bible weekly for months. Ironically, I have been productive completing my responsibilities one at a time. No rushing. Minimize stress. I pace myself. Fortunately, I remember most of my personal bible I recite at times I need encouragement.

Blog Title: 3. Go Get My Life
Date: Saturday January 31, 2015
Summary: Getting a life requires working. A good life is not given on a silver platter. Be responsible. Don't take life for granted.
Feedback: I wonder if I wrote the blog in 2007, then I tell myself I'm full of shit. 2007 was the year I took all my successes and fortunes for granted. The blog above is I'm a man of my word today sincerely and truthfully. I continue learning new job skills. I workout at the gym. Moreover, I'm retired from anime. I say goodbye to anything and to anyone holding me back. I have more free time to earn a good life.

Although my past contract job ended up nowhere, I continue doing what I wrote. No wasting time. No jerking around. No taking my life for granted. Work and earn.

Blog Title: 4. A Sample Of Changes Everyday
Date: Friday February 27, 2015
Summary: I wrote four life changing samples humans experience. They were beauty, jobs, climate, and computer.
Feedback: Quoted for emphasis. Our looks change as we age. Many of us find another job. The weather patterns are changing. Technology innovates every day. Most changes are beyond our control.

Blog Title: 5. Work Sat Mar 7, 2015
Date: Saturday March 7, 2015
Summary: I drove on the carpool lane solo to work on Wed Feb 25 and Thur Feb 26 because there were two car accidents in those two days.
Feedback: I never drive on the carpool lane solo for the rest of my life regardless of time. I never drive on the carpool lane solo between the minutes before the carpool time starts and the minutes after the carpool time ends. Why? A police officer pulled over three solo drivers minutes before the carpool lane time ended on Thur Feb 26. I was lucky I merged out of the carpool lane.

Blog Title: 6. I Define Self-Respect
Date: Thursday March 12, 2015
Summary: My self-respect definition is live a good life. Take care of yourself. Be active. Avoid situations where you're uncomfortable.
Feedback: Here is another blog I wonder if I wrote the blog in 2007, then I tell myself I'm full of shit. To repeat, 2007 was the year I took all my successes and fortunes for granted. Self-respect is controlling more of your life. I want to control more of my life. I want to be in my driver's seat. Be professional. Avoid anything and anyone holding me back. Blog Title: 8. Never Give Up Finding The Ultimate Happiness
Date: Saturday April 11, 2015
Summary: There is a human being meant to fall in love with another human being.
Feedback: The bullshit blog theme continues. I wonder if I wrote the blog in 2007, then I tell myself I'm full of shit. To repeat, 2007 was the year I took all my successes and fortunes for granted.

I believe it today. I'm always working on finding my ultimate happiness even when I'm unemployed and living with my parents. A lover makes happy life happier and sad life bearable. There is someone out there who's a match. There are an infinite amount of different people including geeks, boring people, introverts, book lovers, adventurers, wine lovers, and preppers.

Blog Title: 9. The Past Caught Up With Me

Blog Title: 12. Independence
Date: Friday July 3, 2015
Summary: The day I declare myself living independent is coming soon.
Feedback: Here is a 2015 bullshit blog. On the other hand, I wrote it on Independence Day weekend. Also, I have been repeating myself throughout 2015 my current life situation. In other words, duplicate blogs on how I'm getting better. Is it okay? I remind myself by repetition.

Blog Title: 14. Accept The Daily Adult Living
Date: Tuesday August 4, 2015
Summary: Strength, courage, flexibility, maturity, professionalism, and a grown-up behavior are required to live the adult life. No day is the same. Expect to be always behind in something. Be prepared for emergencies. Accept new challenges. Always meet new people. Stay active.
Feedback: Here is a good summary to live a good adult life; although, sometimes there are bad times. Nobody lives a 100% perfect easy life. Sometimes we must say no.

I see myself the life I described above as an adult. I hear stories and witnessed myself other people living the adult life above. Unfortunately, some of the adults do a poor job living the adult life. I live my adult life responsibility and intelligently.

Blog Title: 15. What I Learned Finishing CERT Academy Training?
Date: Wednesday October 7, 2015
Summary: One of the two concepts I learned was schools plant the seed. The responsibility to learn more and to become an expert is you. Don't take knowledge for granted. Never stop learning. Continue training. Continue refreshing. Innovate infinitely.
Feedback: Good parents encourage their children to infinitely learn. There's school vacation. There's no learning vacation. Continue learning something, anything. Likewise for adults. It's normal for a working adult to relax after a long day's work. Rest is required. No problem. Find some time in a calendar work week to learn something new. The learning can be job related or life related. The repetition is learning something new and reviewing something existing. Repeat infinitely.

In particular, the CERT 21 hour training planted the seed, started the motion what to learn and what to review, and continued learning. Similarly, I'm following the CERT self-learning attitude to learn Python, VBA, CSS, and JavaScript. There is so much to learn books and videos scratches the surfaces to become an expert. It takes time.

Blog Title: 16. Today I Want To Talk About Adventure

Blog Title: 18. All The People In My Life
Date: Tuesday November 10, 2015
Summary: I ask myself the people I met in the past are doing better today. I want to be part of a group of people living a good life.
Feedback: I must make the blog true. My bullshit blogs end here. I don't take past people who helped me, shared their knowledge, and spent their time with me for granted. The next time these past people see me I'm a better Raymond Mar. I prove it to them. I prove it to the world. I nominated the blog for the blog of the year if there was an award.

A Silent Thinking Appreciating My Present Life In Writing

Today's blog is take a deep breath. Today's blog is another time to say thank you. I'm grateful for my present life who I am, what I am, where I am, when I'm living today, how I am, and why I'm the present person. Strength, intelligence, health, wisdom, and motivation are the highest. Confidence and self-esteem are the highest. I acknowledge my parents for their assistance. I'm indebted to friends and to people who helped me be who I am. I tribute the two moments which are the day I realized I must grow up on Sat Oct 4, 2008 and The Shawshank Redemption movie on Sat Sep 21, 2019. I don't take life for granted.

Job training continues. Job searching continues despite a tough job market. I exercise four days a week. I maintain a clean body. I minimize eating junk foods. I read books. Spending is controlled. Expenses are checked. I learn life skills. I listen to music. I listen to podcasts. I write blogs. I watch one movie a week. I maintain a clean household.

Destiny, life, karma, the stars, the heavens, and the powers that be are acknowledged. Timing, luck, chance, and opportunities are respected. I want my life to get better. My life can get worse which isn't. I understand patience to be happy. I comprehend the lessons learned from mistakes. I'm conscious of intuition. Thank you to everything. Thank you to everyone.

My Two Biggest Regrets

There are two answers. The first biggest regret is taking life for granted. I have mention multiple times in past blogs since the day I grew up on Sat Oct 4, 2008. I stopped taking my life for granted since Sat Oct 4, 2008. The second biggest regret is an update on a past blog.

Update On A Past Blog

I lived a life having too much fun. I blogged The World Is Having Too Much Fun on Tue Jan 22, 2019. I lived a life having too little work. I said in the one paragraph blog, ". . . I had too much fun in my early to mid 2000s." If I exchanged 20% of fun for work, then I'm 20% smarter in my early to mid 2000s. I might self-discover I grow up earlier than Sat Oct 4, 2008. My life changed forever might have been earlier.

Written Blogs By The Numbers

Here are some blogs I wrote by the numbers. The blogs are presented in descending order latest to earliest.

*My Six Guarantees (Dec 11, 2021). Everyone is weird, everyone changes, everyone has problems, and there are 24 hours in a day. Benjamin Franklin said " . . . nothing is certain except death and taxes" rounds up my six guarantees.

*High School R.O.T.C. Leadership Lesson Another Viewpoint By Rank (Oct 24, 2020). I blogged the four leadership attributes communication, ability to deal with others, professional knowledge, and physical fitness. I blogged the nine leadership skills motivation, integrity, self-discipline, self-confidence, courage, responsibility, enthusiasm, emotional stability, and knowledge.

*My Four Mount Rushmore Greatest Moments In My Life (Aug 9, 2020). The four moments are cosplaying, growing up, job training, and the movie The Shawshank Redemption.

A side blog is He's More Than Charming Or She's More Than A Sweetheart written on Sep 25, 2019. I have high expectations. I have deal breakers.

And I made a promise to myself that I'm not going to let this money ruin my life."

I vow to control my stress. It's ironic work is required to minimize stress. I follow the basics which are eat healthy foods, physical workouts, and sleep for eight hours.

23. Fight the pain, the suffering, and the struggles to keep living.
24. Use your mind to see.
25. Time is the ultimate judge.
26. Live the present. Live the moment.

28. Do the little things and they add up in time.

The other reason is sex The Number One Reason I Brush My Teeth written on Jan 22, 2013. Sex and money are the motivators to brush, floss, and, if necessary, rinse with mouthwash and/or use the Waterpik.

Winners Attract

I dreamed last night I played for a Major League Soccer (MLS) team. The season started. My position was midfielder. I started four games. I was substituted in the second half of the fourth game. Our record started 0-4. The fourth game was played in a gigantic tavern with the soccer field in the middle of the tavern. There was a giant flat screen TV above one side of the field against a wall from the high ceiling. The bar and individual chairs aligned one side of the field. It was a dream for which some parts make no sense.

I was benched for the next five games. I was not substituted in the game. I asked questions from the fourth game to the ninth game. I asked teammates on the bench. I asked the head coach. It was information and intelligence gathering why we lost the first four games and more games thereafter. The answers made me angry. The team didn't practice between games. Poor coaching staff. Ownership didn't care. Low morale. Little teamwork. Nobody wanted to talk to me outside my information and intelligence gathering.

I practiced on my own after the fifth game. I drilled kicks. I worked out in the gym to increase strength, speed, and endurance. The hard work paid off. I was substituted in the second half of the tenth game. I scored a goal. I started on the eleventh game. I scored three goals or a hat trick. The three goals were easy scores in the open because the opposition underestimated me.

One teammate initiated a conversation with me after the game. He was concerned I overachieved. I didn't worry about being released. The fan base started to support me after the hat trick. Ownership didn't want bad public relations if the team released me.

Game twelve I scored an assist. I didn't know I scored a fifth goal because I woke up.

My point of the dream is people who are winners attract other people. Confidence attracts. Strength attracts. Initiative attracts. Intelligence attracts. Communication attracts. Self-esteem attracts. Motivation attracts. Good people attract.

Moody Men

Women are known to have mood swings. Women are happy, sad, depress, calm, nice, dreadful, funny, crazy, angry, shameful, sympathetic, and tired. Women are leave me alone, stay with me, party pooper, relatable, lonely, friendly, no touching, yes touching, horny, blame anything and anyone, and full of excuses. Don't blame the women. Blame the female hormones. Blame the mensuration cycle.

Men must admit. Men have mood swings, too. Men are happy, sad, depress, calm, nice, dreadful, funny, crazy, angry, shameful, sympathetic, and tired. Men are leave me alone, stay with me, party pooper, relatable, lonely, friendly, no touching, yes touching, horny, blame anything and anyone, and full of excuses. Don't blame the man. Blame the male hormone. My testosterone levels are high on most days or low on few days. There are days I have no interest in watching sports, reading books, sex, cooking, and working out. The days are like a time out. Nothing interests me. It's normal as long as the time out is rare. It's normal as long as the time out don't disrupt consistently and don't disrupt relationships.

Another Life Blog

There are speed bumps on the roads. The roads are oily. There are detours. There is a wrench jammed in the machine. A screw is loose. The squeaky wheel must be greased. Spend a dime today or spend a dollar tomorrow. Minutes now or hours later. Insert any life idiom. Insert any life catch phase. Insert any life saying.

An adult daily life is not get up, go to work, go home, and go to sleep. A child's daily life is not get up, go to school, go home, and go to sleep. There are meals. There are responsibilities. There is taking care of one's body. One problem is solved. Another problem is clear and present.

A person must practice maintenance. Maintenance is routine. Maintenance is infinite learning. Use your brain or lose it. Use your body inside and outside or lose them. There are priorities. Problems are inevitable. Ignoring problems don't solve by themselves; although, there are exceptions.

I can write the blog in bullet points. The point is the same. Readers who comprehend today's blog our commonality is maturity and responsibilities. Additional commonalities are upgrades, replacements, out with the old and in with the new for equipment or durable goods. Out with the old and in the new applies to human beings, too. Let's be friends.

I'm reminded by the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell wrote companies promoting connections, complex work functions, and workers have autonomy are the three factors for the best workers. Satisfying work. The reward matches the effort.

Relationship Advice, Life Advice, Relationship Wisdom, Life Wisdom

Blogger's Note: May is pic month. I'm catching up posting pics from my smart phone. Enjoy!

Any problems start from the top in an organization. Life advice turn off toilet water hoses during extended household absence. Replace toilet water hoses every five years. Respect must be earned. Ask the question with a deeper mindset, "Are you hiring?" The old and the ugly must be removed. Avoid the weak self-esteem people. Play the best board games. Fuck it, let's read The Beatles Get Back.

The Real Raymond Mar Please Stand Up

I'm rising up. I'm a self-trained genius. My destiny card says I achieve freedom when I stand up and walk to the front of the stage. I become the real Raymond Mar. The real Raymond Mar stands up. He walks to the front of the stage. The fake Raymond Mars remain seated. The audience doesn't care for the fakes. The audience applauds for the real. It's the truth.

There are two sides in favor of me and against me. I play the personal objective card.

For The Real Raymond Mar

*Growing Up. I grew up on Sat Oct 4, 2008. I never wrote a dedicated blog detailing the day I grew up. I choose a similar blog I Choose Raymond Mar Today to represent the day which changed my life.

I include reading more fiction books than non-fiction books, learning strength training at bodybuilding.com, wearing new clothes, sleeping on a new mattress, accepting responsibility, and not taking life for granted as my immediate changes growing up.

*The Real Innovating Infinitely. I combine all learnings, new adventures, and new experiences. I include learning by drilling and practice by repetition. Life skills learned. Job skills acquired.

*Self-trained Genius. I'm one step closer to becoming a self-trained genius at the end of the day.

*Cooking. I know enough cooking skills to eat healthy meals. I minimize eating processed foods.

*Retired Hobbies. I'm retired from watching anime and playing video games. I'm playing classic video games three hours a week.

*I'm the healthiest I've ever been. I exercise four days a week. The last time I got sick was Oct 2018.

*Maintenance. I practice proper body bare necessities. My residence is cleaned. My car is maintained including oil changes and tire rotations.

Against The Real Raymond Mar

*The Real George Costanza. I'm unemployed. I live with my parents.

*Bad Luck. I experienced bad luck during job interviews. It's not a curse.

*Behind In Life. I'm behind in experience and knowledge. If there's a what a 40s-year-old man supposed to achieve, then I'm behind.

*Inherit Weakness. I have poor short-term memory. I can't trend water. I'm sensitive to heat. I'm partial tone deaf.

*Slow Reading. I'm a slow reader--not reading slow due to poor intelligence. However, for whatever reason, my speed and my comprehension have improved.

*July 1998-March 2007 Jobs. There were no transferrable skills working in the commercial real estate. The commercial real estate industry was my first jobs after I graduated college. Working in a retail start-up and working in data entry were pathetic. Working at Cisco was the best job experience.

*Unearned Successes. Most of my past successes including high school, college, and my first jobs were unearned. I was successful due to good luck, good timing, and good fortune. It was not my fault. I think of unearned success like an unearned run in baseball. It wasn't the pitcher's fault the run scored.

Update On A Past Blog

I wrote past blogs on Raymond Mar. Here are the past blogs with a brief description.

My Own Commentary On The Daily Life Of Raymond Mar written on Jul 31, 2013. I self-questioned and self-answered my daily life for which most of the answers were correct back then. They're incorrect today. I was dishonest for the most part. It was a bullshit blog.

The Look

I dreamed last night Palo Alto Police staged a rescue in a courthouse in California. My position was inside the courthouse. The courthouse was like a junior college student union. The rescue was actually a contest. Each two person team was given 18 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Each piece was the size of a square. My partner did almost all the work. I matched two pieces doing nothing. One of my two pieces was actress Reese Witherspoon. Otherwise, I'm the poster detective promoting the Palo Alto Police Department. A misallocation of resources. My talents were wasted.

The dream, logically or illogically, inspires me the write today's blog on the look. The person has the look of *fill in the blank*. High confidence in *fill in the blank* is correct. The late Steve Jobs said we do judge a book by its cover. We judge a person by his or her looks. Anyone saying otherwise is lying. We judge consciously or unconsciously. We evaluate a person by appearance. The person has the geek look. The person has the athletic appearance. The person dresses like an administrative assistant. The person's clothes communicate a professional model. The physical appearance identifies a carpenter. Another physical appearance identifies a doctor. The look is a police officer. Losers have their own look. There are exceptions such as actors and actresses doing their jobs, con artists, masters of disguise, and people being in a bad mood. Guesses are highly accurate for which an amateur profiler can guess accurately.

We can change our look. We can change from the inside to the outside. We can change from the top to the bottom. The change must be honest. The change must be sincere. Physical, mental, clothes, friends, hobbies, career, and everything else to be the truth. No more tricks. No more fake smiles. No more hiding.

No more meth drug look. No more alcoholic look. No more work stress look. No more doing nothing look. No more "you look terrible" or "what happened to you" look in a negative way. Say yes to "you're good looking." Say yes to more "you look great. What changed?"

Give It Time The Winners Remain Standing

Time is the ultimate judge. It's a common wisdom. It's one of my favorite wisdom. Give it time. Be patient. Time separates the winners and the losers. Time filters the qualified and unqualified. The quitters quit. The losers drop. The idiots fired. There are exceptions. There is a mismatch the person quits legitimately. Few losers stay for whatever reason such as bad management, politics, luck, or timing. The winners are happy when the losers are out.

The winners are strong. The winners are intelligent. The winners are wise. The winners are attractive. Winning attracts. The winners are team workers. The winners have the instinct to achieve goals. Responsibilities are checked off. Winners are examples of professionalism. Never stop learning. Make mistakes. Learn from the mistakes. Add more knowledge indefinitely. Innovate infinitely. Winning attitude. Mental focus.

Life is good being a winner. Life is good being with winners. Life gets better. Life gets challenging. Challenges are not a problem. There are opportunities to learn more. Winners move forward without stopping.

The progression is automatic. The results are displayed. The transgression is obvious. There is no joke. Winners earn their successes.

Side note: The late Steve Jobs fired 25% of the senior managers and executives when he came back to Apple in 1997. The 25% were the people in his "bozo" list.

A 46 Year Old Mind And Spirit Inside A 13 Year Old Body

Blogger's note: The title A 46 Year Old Mind And Spirit Inside A 13 Year Old Body is incorrect. The title A 45 Year Old Mind And Spirit Inside A 13 Year Old Body is correct.

I dreamed last night my adult mind and adult spirit was inside a preteen boy. Warped to the past. Transferred to the past. Reincarnated to the past. Transported to another universe. Slid to another dimension. Traveled permanently to another world. The reader can make up any verb.

I was in eighth grade at my actual same junior high school. The class was physical education (PE). The PE teachers combined the boys and girls for co-ed basketball. The class was held in the cafeteria which was also the gym. The boys and girls lined up. The coaches randomly assigned the boys and girls to teams. I maintained my mind and spirit as a 46 year old on planet Earth on January 9, 2021 throughout the team selection. I asked myself in the back of my head, "What's going on here? Why am I back in junior high?" I reminded myself I know Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar being the NBA's all-time scoring leader.

I was selected in team #3. My team played poorly. We didn't play as a team. We were confused. Nobody knew how to play basketball. I took charge. I became like Draymond Green of the Warriors. I directed my team to play offense and play defense. I played like Curry shooting long range shots and passing to open players.

I became popular during the lunch hour. I went to the outdoor basketball courts after I ate lunch at the benches. I talked with my classmates on random topics. Students came up to me asking how to play basketball. Two particular students thanked me and bowed to me as if I'm their grandfather.

My philosophical question is the following: Are genius people geniuses being possessed from another person's mind and spirit? Any person with past knowledge and past experience has an advantage.

Top Ten I Get It Now

Everyone experiences the unlighted light bulb lights up. We make the connection. I get it now. I understand it now. The puzzle pieces are together. The eyes are wide open. Yes! I figure it out. I solve the riddle. The continuous working at the problem never giving up. The time spent is worth it. The late Steve Jobs said, "The journey is the reward."

Here are the top ten I get it now:

10. Steve Jobs. I continue mentioning Jobs. Jobs promoted his employees to think during the early days of Apple. I believe Jobs changed the mantra from think to feel. Trust intuition. The late Bruce Lee said don't think, feel.

I also understand Jobs' "Stay hungry, stay foolish" wisdom. Never settle. Be brave making mistakes. He never worried about money. He lived a simple life before Apple. He lived a comfortable life after Apple went public. And we do judge a book by its cover. Everyone must admit it.

9. The Shawshank Redemption And Good Will Hunting. The two movies are my number one and number two all-time favorites, respectively. The Shashank Redemption: geology is the study of pressure and time; hope is a good thing; and no good idea ever dies. Good Will Hunting: it's not your fault.

8. The Professionals. There is a reason why people are professionals at what they do. Professional sports, attorneys, doctors and nurses, plumbers, auto mechanics, engineers, programmers, accountants, carpenters, first responders, singers, etc. Sometimes it's better to pay a professional instead of watching YouTube tutorials to be a do-it yourselfer.

7. bodybuilding.com. Go to a gym with a workout plan. Never workout at the gym picking random machines and/or random free weights. Know the basics running the treadmill and cycling. Never stop learning new plans and never stop changing workouts. A person choosing to workout at the gym consistently must workout at least three days a week. Also, minimize eating processed foods. Working out at the gym doesn't cancel the negative health affects eating bad food.

6. Train, Practice, Learn, Drill, Review, Repeat. I started relearning Excel in Aug 2014. I started learning Python in May 2015. The Excel and Python are not the point. The point is never stop learning. Always train. Always practice. Always learn. Always review. Continue drilling. Repeat the process. The process can be boring; on the other hand, the process is not boring when successful. Number six is a definition of hard work. See The Professionals number eight.

5. Happy Single People Attract. Single people who want to attract new people are happy. Single people increase their chances of meeting new people and making new friends are useful, know lots of skills, and learn indefinitely. See Train, Practice, Learn, Drill, Review, Repeat number six.

4. Master The Five. Here is another example of number six. I remind myself and I remind my readers a good person lives a good life mastering the five: physical, mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual. Physical fitness is moving the elbows and knees. See bodybuilding.com number seven for those interested in physical activity at the gym. Mental health includes intelligence. Use the brain or lose the brain. See Train, Practice, Learn, Drill, Review, Repeat number six. Keep calm and lower stress for emotional stability. Keep expenses in check for financial stability. See Steve Jobs number ten. The simplest spiritual practice is sleep eight hours a night.

3. Time Is The Ultimate Judge. Time will tell what we do presently affects the future. The time judge applies to change. What we do right now can make a difference. Time will tell us the outcome. We don't know the answer now. We don't have a solution key at present.

2. Desire Is More Important Than Knowledge. Self-explanatory. Number two Desire Is More Important Than Knowledge is higher than number four Master The Five's mental health includes intelligence.

1. Grow Up. Sat Oct 4, 2008 changed my life forever. It was time to grow up. No more immaturity. No more taking life for granted. I'm responsible for my life.
