Car Maintenance Reference Pictures

Blogger's Note: May is pic month. I'm catching up posting pics from my smart phone. Enjoy!

A second picture of the Christmas pirate boat. I try to remember car maintenance if I need to remove the engine cover and lubricate the locks. Board gamers don't need a giant Connect 4 board game. Costco does sell goods in clearance. I share most of my books I read. Always learn life skills such as tying rope knots. Condoms is another life skill. Anyone remember California Stationers retail store? See Downtown San Jose from East San Jose.

*2 X 0 = 0. Double nothing results in nothing.

*Combat The Snitch Economy. A secret shopper doesn't rat out the employees. He or she gets paid to eat and always gives a positive review.

*Condoms are 98% effective. Condoms are 2% ineffective. Prevent the 2% failure rate. Don't ejaculate inside a woman wearing a condom. Pull out the penis before ejaculating inside the condom. It's better than unplanned pregnancies. No birth control is 100% effective.

Further, condoms are one time use. Use once. Throw away.

*Open the windows. Close the windows. Summer season. The house is cooler inside. The weather is hotter outside. Windows close. On the other hand, the house is hotter inside. The weather is cooler outside. Windows open.

Winter season. The house is warmer inside. The weather is cooler outside. Windows close. The house is cooler inside. The weather is warmer outside. Windows open. It's a judgement call.

*Steve Jobs: Some people say, "Give the customers want they want." But that's not my approach. Our job is to figure out what they're going to want before they do. I think Henry Ford once said, "If I'd asked customers what they wanted, they would have told me, 'A faster horse!'" People don't know what they want until you show it to them. That's why I never rely on market research. Our task is to read things that are not yet on the page." The quote is from Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson on page 567.

*premeditated: an action thought out or planned beforehand. Full conscious willful intent and a measure of forethought and planning. Thought of or planned before being done. Planned in advance with a purpose; no accident. Done deliberately. Planned in advanced. Planned. Calculated. Deliberate.

Moody Men

Women are known to have mood swings. Women are happy, sad, depress, calm, nice, dreadful, funny, crazy, angry, shameful, sympathetic, and tired. Women are leave me alone, stay with me, party pooper, relatable, lonely, friendly, no touching, yes touching, horny, blame anything and anyone, and full of excuses. Don't blame the women. Blame the female hormones. Blame the mensuration cycle.

Men must admit. Men have mood swings, too. Men are happy, sad, depress, calm, nice, dreadful, funny, crazy, angry, shameful, sympathetic, and tired. Men are leave me alone, stay with me, party pooper, relatable, lonely, friendly, no touching, yes touching, horny, blame anything and anyone, and full of excuses. Don't blame the man. Blame the male hormone. My testosterone levels are high on most days or low on few days. There are days I have no interest in watching sports, reading books, sex, cooking, and working out. The days are like a time out. Nothing interests me. It's normal as long as the time out is rare. It's normal as long as the time out don't disrupt consistently and don't disrupt relationships.

Too Many People

The Mercury News published an article titled Churches Go On Building Spree on Jun 16, 2019. The article discussed the San Francisco Bay Area churches building affordable housing on their properties. For instance, the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Walnut Creek, CA is building 44 apartment units. St. Paul's received more than 5,000 applications.

I paused reading the article after the 5,000 applications paragraph. My immediate reaction was 5,000 . . . what the fuck! The odds securing an apartment unit are small. The odds securing an apartment unit are small even if 1,000 applications are removed because of false information and 1,000 applications are removed because their income is too high.

There are too many people. There are too few goods, services, and resources to meet the needs of the overcrowding planet Earth. Growing demand. Limiting supply. Prices go up. Basic economics. I can't say any clearer. The number of winners remains the same. The number of losers increases. The number of opportunities remains the same. The number of applicants increases. Moreover, the number of winners and opportunities are increased or eliminated. The number of losers and applicants continues to increase. Life has always been unfair.

Too and many are the two words causing many of today's world problems. In particular, too many people. The world is overcrowded. Overcrowding causes problems. Overpopulation is the number one global problem. Control population growth. Reduce overcrowding. Many world problems are either solved or minimized. Unfortunately, nobody talks about too many people.

Update On A Past Blog

The Too Many People blog reminded me of a past blog There Are Too Many People Here on Sep 16, 2007. A Slate article said technological advances reduce emissions and save the Earth from any global environment crisis. The Slate article inspired me to blog a fear increase in crime, more garbage, and higher infrastructure costs when the population increase. Burglary has increase including package thefts, car break-ins, and residential break-ins. Garbage is increasing because there are more people. On the other hand, recycling is increasing. There are too many pot holes. People are driving on the roads longer. My neighborhood driving time is longer because more apartments and more retail buildings.

*Two San Francisco Giants Past Away Late 2018. Radio play-by-play announcer Hank Greenwald past away on Oct 22, 2018. I remember one broadcast when I was in high school. It was a rainy day. I was bored. I listened to a Giants game against the San Diego Padres lying down on the carpet. Time passed by listening to Greenwald.

Willie "Stretch" McCovey past away on Oct 31, 2018. The hall of fame first baseman was the most beloved Giants player. McCovey's career statistics include 521 home runs, 1,555 runs batted in, and 2,211 hits. An infamous at bat took place in the 1962 World Series Game 7 bottom of the ninth inning against the New York Yankees. The score was 1-0 in favor of the Yankees. Willie Mays on second base. Matty Alou on first base. McCovey hit a line drive directly to the second baseman Bobby Richardson. If McCovey hit the ball anywhere else, then the Giants won the 1962 World Series.

*Catching Up What I Missed. I have been catching up what I missed in my younger years. I seek new adventures and experience new experiences. I just realize learning new job skills is included. New work knowledge. I can't explain why. The catching up new career skills started in Aug 2014. I continue catching up everything I missed to the day I die.

*Good Marketing Buy Condoms.

*Australia Mesh Drains.

*Another Example Of Bad Luck. I was at my local tire shop getting my tires rotated and balanced. An Uber driver customer brought his car for tire repairs. One of his tires drove over four screws. Three out of four tires are serviced. The fourth tire is not serviced. It was the fourth tire which drove over the four screws. He must pay full price for the replacement tire. He told me he drives 150 miles a week Ubering.

The Uber driver story reminded me dad, mom, and I driving to my brother's house. My dad was cut off four times from four different drivers on four different roads on one trip.

*Professional job networking organization seeks experienced web developer. How ironic an organization helping people find jobs needs a volunteer to help with their web page. PHP coding experience is required. There are people without experience needing a job to get experience. Catch-22.

*Giving A Little Bit. I donated to City Team Ministries and Second Harvest Food Bank helping the poor. I'm unemployed; however, I'm in a better position to succeed. I have better odds to find a job.

*The Cat In The Hat. The book by Dr. Seuss is on my wish list.

*2019 Changes In Bay Area Sports. Jan 2, 2019. The second day of the new year. There were changes. NBC Sports Bay Area didn't renew senior analyst Ray Ratto's contract. The San Francisco 49ers announced Greg Papa is the new radio play-by-play announcer. Former radio play-by-play announcer Ted Robinson is reassigned.

*#tylerstrong Former Purdue student Tyler Trent died from bone cancer on Jan 1, 2019 at the age of 20. Trent inspired the Purdue Boilermakers football team. I heard of #tylerstrong for the first time watching the Boilermakers upset the Ohio State Buckeyes on Oct 20, 2018. Click link for a full story from ESPN.

*Mostly Clique Lessons From The Rich. Here's a YouTube video on the 15 Things Poor People Do That The Rich Don't. One thing may be enough to improve your life. It's the first time I heard of Alux.

SOMT: Fast Times At Ridgemont High

Blogger’s Note: SOMT stands for Sign Of My Times, an occasional blog sharing my thoughts how time changes life from when I was young to today.

The times were fast when the movie was released in 1982. Today's high school life fast is light speed. The coming of age, comedy, high school life is a classic movie. For example, the list of actors and actresses we know today include Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Forest Whitaker, and Nicholas Cage. We also know Ray Walston and Phoebe Cates. I add the movie to my wish list. It was the first time I saw Fast Times At Ridgemont High movie. Most of the theme of high school in the 80s is true today such as sex, drugs, music, and naturally curious.

I compared and contrasted my high school life and today's high school life while I watched the movie. I concentrated 50% of my brain watching the movie and 50% of my brain thinking back to my past. I share some of my comparing and contrasting below:

*Telephone. Past teenagers lived the good life having their own phone in their rooms. They practiced maturity, privacy, and independence. It was the best way to have a real time conversation without being face to face. Times have changed with smart phones. Teenagers today can practice maturity, privacy, and independence anywhere. Email, texting, and social networking reduce the old school real time conversation talking on the phone.

*Go to a friend's house. Let's go to a friend's house to hang out. Real time socialization. Today's information age more teenagers are hanging out online via social networks. Perhaps, it's a generation change and/or culturally related. More parents aren't allowing their sons and daughters to invite their friends over. I don't know why. Responsible parents must allow their sons and daughters to invite their friends over at the house for safety reasons and to keep the parent-child bond strong.

*Take a chance. Leap of faith. Let life dictate. I'm speaking from experience. We can't control everything in life. Sometimes we must let life choose for us. Take a chance to let life set a pathway. My high school life was good and bad letting life dictate most my high school days. I admit I should have taken more control of my life. Perhaps, I learned an important high school life lesson I realized later in life: sometimes trust fate, destiny, and karma to bring good moments.

*Trial and error. We forgot the best way to learn via trial and error. Everyone is expected to learn quickly today. Everyone is expected to know everything today. No more discovery. No more patience. The information age makes learning instant without making errors; for example, Google the unknown. How are high school students supposed to learn without making mistakes?

*Meet people from other people. Another benefit going to a friend's house was the opportunity to meet new people. Past high school students expanded their circle of friends face to face or telephoning each other. High school students today can expand their circle of friends online without meeting face to face. Is meeting new people online genuine?

*Mail letters. Handwritten notes. Pictures on photo paper. Finally, letters, notes, and photos all on paper. Past high school students exchanged handwritten notes and developed pictures; moreover, personal message written on the back of a picture. Past high school students didn't have smart phones to text and to view pictures online. Past high school students mailed letters instead of emailing.

Thought Provoking Information

You be the judge for some of the pics communicating information to provoke thinking. Agree or disagree? We’re humans. We think differently. Don’t pay $1 for a pregnancy kit at a thrifty store.
