Top Ten Plus Six Equals Top Sixteen The Garbage Collector Picks Up

The garbage collector is a metaphor. A good or service yesterday was useful. A good or service today is useless. It's garbage. Toss the garbage out. The garbage is the old. Clear the garbage. Make space for the new. Bring the replacements. Many people underestimate the power of goodbye. Everything and everyone become garbage eventually; for example, professional computer programmers say "all code is garbage" because new code is written. There are exceptions.

Here are the top ten plus six equals top sixteen the garbage collector picks up.

16. Brita Water Pitcher. I'm allergic to the retail grocery store water filtration products. I was sick in May-Jun 2014. I stopped drinking water from Brita. Instant recovery.

15. Former Family Dentist. The family changed dentists in 2019. The previous dentist was part of the family between 1998 and 2018. The practice went downhill for years. Prices increased. Outdated technology.

14. My Second Boss Was Fired. My second boss at my second company in the commercial real estate industry was fired. Management gave her advance notice to find another job. The termination reason was incompetence. I continue to remember the lesson: have nothing, do nothing, get nothing, be nothing, and people treat you like nothing. Never be a nobody.

13. Unfollow Twitter Accounts. Self explanatory. People change. I change for which I lose interest. They change their tweets for which I lose interest.

12. Old Technology. Self explanatory. Never stop learning new technology. Use the latest and greatest to be relevant. Use the latest and greatest to be productive.

11. My Bookshelf. My bookshelf is full of books. I purge my own library. The least desirable books are donated or placed inside free neighborhood libraries. Some books may be desirable today. Give it time. Some books may not be needed tomorrow. Free shelf space. Less clutter.

10. eBay Auctions. My junk is another person's treasure. Some examples of my auctions include board games, DVDs, anime, and toys.

9. Clothes. No more polo shirts. No more plain white t-shirts. Dress appropriately for the occasion.

8. Items blocking the walkways are removed.

7. Friends. People come and go in our lives. It's natural partings. It's life. In particular, say goodbye to the people dragging you down. Don't let people hold you back. If you can't find good friends, then take a chance going alone. Mismatches. There are opportunities to meet new people. There is time to find matching friends.

6. Incorrect Gym Workouts. It took me 10 years from 1998 to 2008 to find out my gym workouts were wrong. A friend told me about bodybuilding.com. I threw away bad workout plans. I follow good workout plans.

5. People don't pay their debts. People who don't respect themselves. Tenants not paying rent are stealing. These people are examples of garbage.

4. Role Playing Games (RPG). Many of my past friends and current RPGs disagree with number four. Playing RPGs was a waste of my time. RPGs was a poor escape from life. RPGs was a poor leisure activity. It should not have been a match for my hobbies. I continue catching up what I missed today.

3. Family Guy. I donated all my Family Guy DVDs. My intelligence improved afterwards. I can't explain it.

2. Liquids. No drinking eight glasses of water a day. No drinking milk. No drinking green tea. No drinking processed orange juice when I'm sick.

I'm in the minority regarding the health benefits of green tea. Drinking green tea daily negatively affects my body. I stopped drinking eight glasses of water after my two surgeries at O'Connor Hospital in Mar 2017. I drink water when I'm thirsty. I'm the healthiest I've ever been.

1. Junk Food Or Processed Food. No eating processed food in moderation. I minimize eating processed foods. No candy for breakfast. Fast food restaurants are included in the processed foods. The only day I eat processed foods all day is Super Bowl Sunday.

Update On A Past Blog

My Washington Canada 2008 vacation from Nov 15, 2008 to Nov 20, 2008 summed up a human nature lesson. Every human is the same. We want to be with people. We work. We attend school. We spend our leisure with our favorite hobbies. We want to be happy. I want to add every human wants to succeed. Click link to read my Washington Canada 2008: Epilogue written on Jan 27, 2009.

Twenty Random Blogs Aug 2025

Blogger's note: I increase the number of random blogs from ten to twenty.

Here are twenty random blogs in order of randomly chosen. Duplicate blogs are allowed from past random blogs. There are no duplicates today. The previous random blogs are Ten Random Blogs Jul 2020 on Jul 31, 2020, Ten Random Blogs Aug 2021 on Aug 13, 2021, and Ten Random Blogs Apr 2023 on Apr 16, 2023. Update remarks are included.

1. Watch Wall Street (Sep 26, 2005). I shared my activities before and on Sep 26, 2005.

Update remark: Wall Street is one of my all time favorite movies.

2. Never Stop Learning Lesson Emphasized Because One Of The Shermans Past Away (May 05, 2017). The Shermans was a couple who lived in the neighborhood for decades. They moved to the eastern USA to be closer to their families. The husband past away. The wife passed away in Jul 2017.

The lessons I learned continue today. Never stop learning. Find new experiences to experience. Don't waste life watching television eight hours a day. Some seniors choose the sedentary life watching too much television.

Update remark: Rest in peace Bob and Alice.

3. Three Hours Of Me Time Weekdays (Feb 08, 2013). I wrote my life working Mon to Fri from 9am to 6pm. Wake up, go to work, work at the company building, go home, and sleep eight hours. Three hours of personal time remain. Repeat.

Update remark: No full time worker sleeps eight hours a night on weeknights. More workers lose concentration, act grumpy, feel weaker, and make more mistakes. No full time worker spares three hours of personal time. There are too many responsibilities in today's Information Age. A worker must complete an hour's work in 30 minutes.

A balanced life doesn't exist. The successful people don't live a balanced life to become successful.

4. Throwback Blog: I'm No Longer Nice (Aug 27, 2016). I reuploaded a previous blog be a good person. Don't be a nice person.

Update remark: I posted an I'm No Longer Nice blog update on Aug 21, 2025 Keep Going In Life. I added, "Being extra nice doesn't result in extra rewards. It's not aloofness does pay. It's niceness doesn't pay."

5. It's Okay To Live At Home (Jun 18, 2013). I wrote valid reasons sons and daughters live at home with their parents. Sons and daughters must not take for granted living at home. Sons and daughters must continue living their lives to the best of their abilities.

Update remark: The blog is 100% true today.

6. Shelter In-Place COVID-19 Blog February 2023 (Mar 05, 2023). California ended the pandemic state of emergency on Feb 28, 2023. It was the start of loosening restrictions and mask mandates.

Update remark: None.

7. Highlight and Favorite 2019 Tweets (Dec 30, 2020). My favorite Tweets in 2019. I share my top favorites:

Tweets

Jan 21: A conversation starter. Ask the question, "What keeps you busy?"

Jul 28: I'm not dumbing down. Never dumb down your life. Don't be an asshole for yourself. Don't let people drag you down. Nobody holds your back.

Jul 28: These people must leave your life. People come and go for good or for bad. Some people leave your life. New people enter your life.

Sep 22: I just finished watching The Shawshank Redemption. My high school and college friend watched the movie when it was released in theaters. It was the most boring movie he watched. He didn't understand the point. I avoided the movie.

Sep 22: I choose to watch the movie decades later. Good movie. Recommended. The movie is slow. I put the pieces together watching the movie without success.

Sep 22: My friend is correct up to the climax of the movie. It's the best full circle movie I have ever watched. Stick around. Don't give up. Have hope. The pieces are together. Good things can happen.

Sep 25: The female middle school student was wise beyond her years. RT @BoyYeetsWorld: one time in middle school i dated a girl for 4 days and when she broke up with me she posted on facebook sometimes your knight in shining armor is really just a loser in tinfoil and to this day that the sickest burn I've ever gotten.

Update remark: They were the same yesterday. They are the same today.

14. First Time I Saw A Restaurant Close On Tuesdays (Dec 09, 2018). I said it best. "2018 is over. I wanted to try a restaurant in another city for the first time. I was in the area on Tue Dec 4. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Are you serious? The event summed my recent life. Bad luck. Bad timing." The blog continued expressing my frustration 2018 was the year everything went wrong.

Update remark: Live your life who, what, where, how, and I match who you are.

17. Lonely And Cheerful (Jul 24, 2007). I felt lonely and depressed in Jul 2007. I didn't feel cheerful. False optimism.

Update remark: The 2007 Summer Sabbatical failed. I did everything wrong. I admit I made a mistake. 2007 should have been one of the best years of my life. 2007 was one of the worst years of my life.

18. Throwback Blog: SOMT: Kodak Declares Bankruptcy (Sep 30, 2017). Toys R Us declared bankruptcy on Sep 19, 2017 which inspired the throwback blog on Kodak declared bankruptcy. Keep In Touch On Social Media

Everyone knows social media. Even people who live under a rock know social media. Facebook, Twitter or X, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, and Yelp are popular social media websites. Give it time for the people who don't have social media. They participate in time. Social media is present. People use social media to communicate. People use social media to search.

A negative social media common knowledge is some people become depressed. A common knowledge solution is take a break from social media or deactivate their social media accounts. I'm in the minority. Never take a break from social media. Never deactivate social media accounts. It's okay to reduce time on social media. You never know when you need to contact a friend, family member, or co-worker from a past job. Do your best to keep in touch.

Don't feel jealous when someone gets married, finds a new job, travels on a dream vacation, gets promoted, or purchases a new car. Jealously is poor self-esteem. Poor self-esteem becomes depression. The person earns their happy moment thru hard work, destiny, life, karma, or luck. Like or comment. On the other hand, if you got married, found a new job, traveled on your dream vacation, got promoted, or purchased a new car, then you want likes and comments. You earned your happy moment thru hard work, destiny, life, karma, or luck. It goes both ways.

Update On A Past Blog

I add another sports lesson to the Top Ten Life Lessons I Learned Watching Sports written on Nov 5, 2016. Winning solves problems. A professional sports team wins a championship. The problems are solved. The problems are forgotten. The problems are forgiven. Likewise in life. Winning is a factor to forgive. Forgiving is easier when the person or the party forgiving is winning. Forgiving is easier when the person or the party forgiving is successful.

Four Million Reasons From Twitter

Today's blog is an update on a past blog.

Update On A Past Blog

Elon Musk purchased Twitter for $44B which closed on Fri Oct 28, 2022. All shareholders receive $54.20 per share. Twitter becomes a private company. Musk's first business move was firing CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Sagal, chief legal affairs Vijaya Gadde, and head general counsel Sean Edgett. Musk played the Steve Jobs card. Jobs fired 25% of the executives and senior managers in his bozo list when he returned to Apple in 1997.

Musk tweeted on Nov 4, 2022 Twitter loses $4M a day. The screenshot above is timestamped today at 3:50pm. Layoffs began on Nov 4, 2022. The recent Twitter events reminds me when I worked at a retail start-up from Nov 2013 to Sep 2014. I blogged Another Start-Up Business Is Out Of Business written on Aug 14, 2021 and Three Years Later Scanners For Bar Codes written on Oct 22, 2020. I mentioned bad management or bad ownership in the first blog. "There are no such thing as bad companies; it's bad management makes companies bad" is a common business knowledge. The business sold high-end wine, beer, and sake at discount prices. Great business idea. Poor business ownership. One example of poor business ownership was the second blog. It took three years for ownership to invest in a barcode system for inventory and sales. Barcodes existed for decades. I mentioned make changes when problems are clear and present. Fix the problems now.

Twitter is a great business idea. Twitter is a social media service for people micro blogging. Musk is doing his best to turnaround Twitter with good ownership and good management solving problems now.

The Green Steno Notebook 4

The picture above is the notebook I acquired on the first day of my new white collar job. I wrote notes during my job training. I wrote other notes, reminders, and knowledge thereafter. I share many of them. Here is the fourth blog.

*Apr 26, 2014. A gag gift idea. A rubber stamps which says "WHATEVER" in caps.

*Apr 26, 2014. Sometimes children make their parents angry to do something. Otherwise nothing gets done. Good choice? Bad choice? Time is the ultimate judge.

*Jun 30, 2014. Shop Amazon for cheaper prices on auto parts such as air filters, headlights, and cabin air filters.

*Jul 6, 2014. Going to a person's house for the first time such as a party or a formal event. Bring a food or a drink. Bring a house plant. For instance, a co-worker brought a cheese cake for a Fourth Of July party.

*Sep 22, 2014. The song "I Only Have Eyes For You" is sung by The Flamingos. One lyric is, "Are the stars out tonight."

*Sep 30, 2014. Denzel Washington's first movie break is Carbon Copy released in 1981.

*Oct 12, 2014. How We Got To Know author Steve Johnson wrote six innovations made the modern world. The six innovations are glass, cold, sound, clean, time, and light.

*Oct 20, 2014. Land Sea Air is an arcade game I played when I was in sixth grade. I played the video game in a bowling alley. The bowling alley was torn down for an outdoor retail strip mall.

*Oct 26, 2014. Finished playing Wargames video game app.

*Oct 27, 2014. I played Rampart arcade game. I reached a harder level. I shot a boat multiple times. The boat survived which was messed up.

*Nov 10, 2014. Apply deodorant on top of a waste basket when the deodorant stick is running low. The reason is if the stick breaks, then it falls into the waste basket.

*Jan 10, 2015. I brought doughnuts for my parents. My mom said doughnuts are bad for your health. I realized my mom usually says something bad every time I do something good.

*Jan 16, 2015. I began trimming off excess fat off meats before cooking. Also, I began removing surface moisture with paper towels. I heard some cooking experts says wax paper is preferred.

*Jan 25, 2015. Stop overthinking. Use intuition.

*Feb 1, 2015. I repeat stop overthinking. Use intuition. The Seattle Seahawks could have won Super Bowl XLIX defeating the New England Patriots if Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll didn't run the slant play. Carroll experienced analysis paralysis.

*Mar 21, 2015. If I'm going to mess up, then I mess up my way. I take responsibility. I learn from my mistakes. It's okay to be foolish.

*Mar 28, 2015. The best way to overcome fatigue is old school rest and old school eat good meals.

*Apr 18, 2015. Tips when I clean the house. Spread the cleaning two days or three days. No more cleaning the entire house in one day. Also, carry a white towel to wipe my sweat. And hang the vacuum cord on the stair rail when I vacuum the stairs.

*Apr 18, 2015. BNYN stands for Both None Yes No.

*May 21, 2015. I go back to drink Crystal Geyser bottle water.

*Jun 12, 2015. I turn on the water to rinse my razor only on shaving days. I save water.

*Jul 10, 2015. My old Sansa Fuze mp3 didn't play sound from my headphones. My initial guess was I needed new headphones. I was incorrect. The headphones worked on another media player. The mp3 sound output was the correct fault. Lesson learned. Do my research. Do my failure analysis. Do my testing.

*Jul 23, 2015. Removed Blink Feed on my cell phone.

*Dec 7, 2015. Mahjong tip. Make connections with your tiles. A friend made one of the cheapest 1,000 point hand in Japanese Mahjong or Riichi.

*Jan 23, 2016. Arrived at the gym at 6pm for a weekend workout. More people arrived at 7pm before the gym closed at 8pm.

*Feb 8, 2016. Played Set card game solo. Looking for set different patterns works. It was harder because my natural thinking is looking for set same patterns.

*Mar 22, 2016. First Amazon order arrived at the last date in date range expected delivery Mar 17-22. Expected delivery date was Mar 20. Actual delivery was Mar 22.

*Apr 1, 2016. Arcade game at Safeway grocery store next to Moon Patrol was M.A.C.H 3 when I was in third grade.

*Apr 25, 2016. Lift objects intelligently; in particular, mornings when I woke up because my muscles were tight. I lifted a plumber snake incorrectly. Minor lower back pain lasted for five days. I might have strained a muscle or pinched a nerve. I should have used a cart. I should have lifted the plumber snake with two hands and holding two of the three handles.

*May 12, 2016. I walked inside my gym's classroom for the first time since I became a member.

*Jun 8, 2016. I worked out at the gym after a haircut. Weight room was half full. There were more people at night time.

*Mar 29, 2017. Blow air compressed air to remove the water from my Camelbak tube.

*Apr 30, 2017. Won 4 first place on Tenhou Japanese Mahjong online games in a row.

*May 7, 2017. Boil tap water instead of bottle water when I make Jell-O.

Update On A Past Blog

The dream reminded me a bullet point from Instant Bullets Blog Aug 11, 2018 Pet Overpopulation. Too many pets is a foreshadow what may happen when there are too many humans.
