Sunday July 5, 2026

I purchased egg rolls at a local Chinese fast food restaurant chain to attend an event at the last minute. I want to share observations from my house, the restaurant, and to the event location.

Today is the United States Of America existing for 250 years and one day. Life goes on. Today is another day. People live their lives. People move forward. There are people working. There are people resting. These people need extra rest because of Fourth Of July yesterday. There are people playing. Work, rest, and play. People earn incomes. People volunteer. People helping other people.

In particular, today's workers. The workers operating the city utilities. The cooks and the food servers in restaurants. The cashiers and service associates in clothing stores. The security personnel in the mall. The gas station attendants. The city first responders on duty. The car dealership sales staff and the car dealership support staff. The parks and recreational staff keeping the parks clean.

Another particular is the people not working. The parents raising their children. Friends spending time with other friends. Families on vacation. Children on summer break. The people alone staying busy.

Tomorrow is Monday Jul 6, 2026. Expect a repeat today tomorrow.

Update On A Past Blog

Today's blog reminded me of the blog Seeing Ordinary People Living Their Lives I wrote on Nov 4, 2014. Sunday Jul 5, 2026 was an ordinary day the day after Fourth Of July. People continue to be grateful.

2025 Year In Review

The five nominations and their explanations for the moment of the year.

1. December 2025 Depression. A depression caused by the Christmas holiday beyond my control and self-imposed. Life lessons learned. New experiences acquired. I blogged Good Way Depression And Bad Way Depression on Jan 6, 2026. Eat well. Sleep well. Stay busy. There's no excuse to be a jerk. Keep going. Move forward.

2. New Webhost Provider. My previous webhosting provider falsely accused me of using too much bandwidth. I found a new provider. I include rewriting my webpage code.

3. Physical Fitness. I combined all the positive and negative physical fitness. The positives were I jogged 10 kilometers or 6.2 miles for the first time. I jogged wearing Hoka shoes for the first time. The Hoka was Bondi 9. I wore a running cap and arm sleeves for the first time.

The negatives were bicep tendonitis and tricep tendonitis on my left arm. The tricep tendonitis is cured. The bicep tendonitis is present. I treat with massages and stretches. My strength training is modified. I wear a left elbow sleeve to maintain my left arm downwards while jogging.

4. Portal 2. The video game nomination for 2025. Is Portal 2 the greatest video game of all time?

5. Riichi Mahjong. I promoted myself as an advanced player. I played at a board game cafe, food hall, and a gaming hall for the first time. I played on Riichi City.

Explanation: I expect the December 2025 Depression to be referenced the next time I'm depressed. The New Webhost Provider ended the five days a week post Self Job Training Graduation Analytics Research Technology; for example, I stopped learning WordPress. The Physical Fitness injuries were the first time I experienced non-short-term injuries. The tendonitis has lasted months dating back to Nov 2025. Portal 2 is not a moment of the year.

Riichi Mahjong is the remaining moment. Many people say a tabletop game is not a moment of the year. Fair statement. The rise is huge from intermediate to advanced. Reading books and rewriting my .pdf file Riichi Hands must be recognized.

What Won: Riichi Mahjong.

What Should Have Won: Riichi Mahjong.

My Thoughts On The Winning Moment: Many people say 2025 should be no winning moment. Fair statement. Riichi Mahjong moment took advantage of weak competition. Depression is a no. Webmasters change webhosting providers daily. No more Physical Fitness or gym workouts to win. Video games don't win.

2025 Letter Grade: C+. 2025 was a lower qualitative life. I could write home these five highlights. I didn't expect the home to respond. Also, I didn't expect the home to celebrate with a party. On the other hand, comparing the boring year 2024 and 2025, 2025 was more exciting than 2024 even though the 2025 letter grade is one-third lower.

Past Moments Of The Years And Its Letter Grades

2024: Analytics Research Technology. Grade B-.
2023: Physical fitness. Grade B+.
2022: Wallstreet Bets. Grade B.
2021: Wallstreet Bets. Grade B.
2020: First responders, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. Grade B.
2019: Consistent gym workouts. Grade C+.
2018: Consistent gym workouts. Grade C-.
2017: O'Connor Hospital. Grade D.

Shelter In-Place COVID-19 Blog September 2025

California issued shelter in-place orders on Tue Mar 17, 2020. I have been logging the highlights and lowlights. There was no summer day 100 degrees or higher. Cooler summer. COVID-19 news was reported as non-top of the hour importance.

Mon Sep 1. President Donald Trump said, "Many people think they are a miracle that saved millions of lives. Others disagree! With [the Center Of Disease Control] (CDC) being ripped apart over this question, I want the answer, and I want it now." Trump was between the rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines in 2020 during his first term and the vaccine skepticism with the MAGA and Health And Human Secretary (HHS) Robert F Kennedy, Jr. Trump said Operation Warp Speed was a great achievement. Trump is supporting Kennedy's efforts to revamp vaccine policies.

Wed Sep 3. California, Oregon, and Washington announced an alliance to establish vaccine regulations for their states. The HHS said the three states' COVID-19 policies show distrust in public health agencies. HHS ensures policies are based on science and not on politics. Other states formulate their own policies and recommendations.

Sun Sep 7. 2,000 days ago since Tue Mar 17, 2020.

Mon Sep 8. Shopped at Safeway, Lowe's, and Costco. A few more customers and a few more employees wore masks.

A close family member tested positive for COVID-19 for the third time.

Tue Sep 9. The US death rate caused by COVID-19 was out of the top ten in 2024. The rate decreased from 750.5 per 100,000 people in 2023 to 722.0 per 100,000 people reported by the CDC and the National Center For Health Statistics. The three leading causes of death remained unchanged from 2023 to 2024. They were heart disease, cancer, and unintentional injury.

The CA Public Health Department reported hospitalizations increased, deaths doubled, and wastewater levels were very high in the last 30 days. The state blamed vaccine confusion. For instance, nobody under the age of 65 can receive a booster. If the person under the age of 65 is considered high risk, then the person can receive the booster.

Thur Sep 11. Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, New York, and Minnesota are some states to expand COVID-19 vaccines. These states break away from the federal government health agencies guidance on the COVID-19 restrictions. Anyone age six months or older can receive a vaccine.

Fri Sep 12. Shopped at Costco. Ate dinner at In-N-Out.

Wed Sep 17. California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii formed the West Coast Health Alliance. The alliance announced vaccine recommendations against the CDC recommendations. All residents older than six months can receive a flu shot. All babies receive the RSV vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine is available for children from six months to 23 months old; adults age 65 and older; everyone younger than age 65 with risk factors or in contact with at-risk people, pregnant women, and anyone who wants the vaccine.

Massachusetts is leading a bipartisan eight Northeast states to discuss coordinating vaccine recommendations. New Mexico pharmacists administer the COVID-19 vaccine based on state health department guidelines.

Thur Sep 18. JAMA Network Open published a study from nine teams of researchers. A universal COVID-19 vaccine recommendation can save thousands of more lives compared to limiting the recommendation to high risk groups. High risk groups recommendation only reduce 90,000 hospitalizations and 7,000 deaths. All groups recommendation reduce 126,000 hospitalizations and 8,000 deaths.

Fri Sep 19. The CDC recommended the COVID-19 vaccine to anyone who wants the vaccine shot. Many major medical insurance companies cover the costs in 2025 and 2026. A doctor prescription is not required. States can disclose a list of at least six vaccine risks to patients.

Many CDC panelists are selected by Kennedy. The panelists question the vaccine's benefits. Regardless, the panelists allow people access to the vaccine. They should consult with their health care provider for which it's not a requirement.

Sat Sep 20. Ate lunch at Amakara. Shopped at Lowe's.

Thur Sep 25. Shopped at Costco.

Graduating High School Seniors All Back At Square One

My nephew graduated high school yesterday. There were 750 out of 800 graduating seniors who attended their ceremony held in the football field. No tickets were required. Seniors could invite any number of family members and friends. The open seating area on the field was full. Both sides of the bleachers were filled. Some family members and friends disobeyed the graduation ceremony rules. No big deal at the end of the evening. The graduating seniors met with their family members and friends to share a once in a lifetime moment.

There was a commonality when all graduating seniors received their diplomas. They're all even. They're promoted to high school graduate level 1. A new experience points system is activated. Everyone starts with zero points. Everyone opens a new book starting at chapter 1. Level the playing field.

It doesn't matter who were the high school students. Athletes, trouble makers, C average 2.0, goths, rockers, skaters, geeks, loners, straight A 4.0+, popular students, gamers, and good looking students. If the term "college preps" still exists, then they're included. Weirdos, fat students, bullies, bullied, special ed, and bad looking students. All high school students were included.

The rumors disappeared. The mistakes learned. Popularity no more. No more ranking students in *fill in the blank*. Send the bad memories to vault. There were bygones. There was forgiveness. The past is the past. The past four years matters none. The end arrived. High school is over more for better and less for worse. Time to say goodbye.

Boring Ceremony Not Boring

Parents and younger siblings who said high school graduation was boring must take it back. Retract the boring feeling. If parents said high school graduation was boring, then their high school graduation was boring, too. If younger siblings said high school graduation was boring, then their high graduation is going to be boring. The siblings are going to graduate soon.

High school graduation is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Nobody must screw up a once in a lifetime moment.

Shelter In-Place COVID-19 Blog March 2025

California issued shelter in-place orders on Tue Mar 17, 2020. I have been logging the highlights and lowlights. Five years ago the world shut down. The media reported the five year anniversary with minimal headline coverage. The COVID-19 Mar 2025 blog is the shortest blog. Another slow month from the first day to the last day.

Wed Mar 12. Shopped at Costco and O'Reilly. Got gas at Chevron.

Sun Mar 16. Five years ago to the day it was the last day before CA shut down due to the global pandemic.

Mon Mar 17. Five years ago to the day CA shut down due to the global pandemic. It was 1,826 days ago. Lives changed forever.

Wed Mar 19. Ran errands at the post office and Costco.

Tue Mar 25. The Center For Disease Control (CDC) took back $11.4 billion in funds for COVID-19. The funds were supposed to fund state health departments, community health departments, nongovernment organizations, and international organizations. The Department Of Health And Human Services said the COVID-19 pandemic is over. The $11.4 billion is transferred to President Donald Trump's Make America Healthy Again.

The federal public health emergency ended May 11, 2023. 1.2 million people died in the United States from COVID-19. Hundreds of people die every week from COVID-19. Long COVID-19 symptoms continue.

Fri Mar 28. Shopped at Safeway first thing in the morning.

Learn Something Everyday

Blogger's Note: May is pic month. I'm catching up posting pics from my smart phone. Enjoy!

Today we learn some homeless people are happy, seal by the side front, some libraries sell used books outside their libraries, some mosquitos are geniuses, sober people are safer than drunken people, give king size candy bars for thoughtful gifts, pet friendly insect traps, all retail stores profit from Halloween, fix a toilet bowl leak, and don't pay full price for a small bag of potato chips.

Update On A Past Blog

The blog Homeless Encampment Eviction Day Real Story on Mar 23, 2024 for which the YouTube comments told the real story instead of the television news story reminded me of the blog The Person Wants No Help written on Mar 24, 2015. Some of the homeless people want no help. The first pic in today's blog is another viewpoint on homeless people. There are happy homeless people.

Self Job Training Graduation Analytics Research Technology

The college diploma is fake. The degree is fake. The award is earned. The training is real. I passed the classes for data analysis or data science. YouTube videos, online education, books, articles, and online posts are my learning sources. The part time self-training took nine years and two months. The self-training could have been completed in five years if I trained full time. The reasons for the part time included household responsibilities, family obligations, other personal commitments, and mistakes from Aug 2014 to Dec 2019. Nov 2014-Mar 2015 were excluded because of a contract job.

I summarize my self job training completion from start to finish.

Aug-Oct 2014: The Preview, The Foreshadow, The Seed

I failed an interview for a contract Data Analyst position because I failed the Excel tests in Jun 2014; in particular, I failed the VLOOKUP test. I never used VLOOKUPs in past jobs. I couldn't explain how I used Excel successfully without VLOOKUP. Bible truth.

I reviewed and learned Excel which included reviewing pivot tables and learning VLOOKUPs watching YouTube videos in Jul 2014. My contract job with a retail startup wasn't renewed in Sep 2014. My friend Appu introduced me to Python for the first time and Ubuntu for the second time. He introduced me to Ubuntu for the first time in 2008. My first Python learning came from a book written for kids. The self job training ended in Nov 2014 when I found another contract job in a networking company.

May 2015-Dec 2019: I Didn't Know What I Was Doing

I actually started in Apr 2015 during my last month at my contract job. The first topic was relearning Oracle SQL. I continued Excel which included dashboards, statistics, and data analysis in May 2015 when I became unemployed. I taught myself Salesforce watching YouTube videos and reading a tutorial book. I created a free Tableau account to learn Tableau from a .pdf book. I quit both Salesforce and Tableau because there was no progress.

VBA was added on Feb 2016. I continued Oracle SQL and Excel. Python began in Apr 2016 learning online from CodeUpStart promotion on Kickstarter. The lessons were terrible. The CodeUpStart convinced me to be skeptical when paying for online training courses. Linux and the text editor Sublime Text began in May 2016. I reviewed HTML, learned CSS, and learned JavaScript. I uploaded my redesigned webpage Innovate Infinitely on Jun 29, 2016.

A major change happened on Apr 2017. I was diagnosed with Acute Gallstone Pancreatitis. I was admitted as an in-patient in a local hospital requiring an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography which removed gallstones and a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy which removed my gallbladder. There was no job training for the entire month. The self job training became a consistent five-day responsibility thereafter. Git was added in May 2017. Appu introduced me to Project Euler to practice Python in May 2017. Drill training began in Jun 2017. Excel was the first drill training topic; for example, formulas, tables, and pivot tables. VBA drill training began in Sep 2017.

The self job training became six days a week in Feb 2018. My friend Spiritsnare told me about free Salesforce official online courses which I learned on Sundays. I stopped the Salesforce in Mar 2018. The six days a week stopped in May 2018 because I got sick in Apr 2018. Power Pivot and Power Query were added in Jun 2018. Power Business Intelligence (Power BI) was added in Oct 2018.

The year 2019 became inconsistent for the topics I learned for the week. Some weeks its Power Pivot and Power Query one day, Python another day, and Power BI another day. Other weeks its Python and SQL one day, Excel another day, and VBA another day. Each week and each day were random topic or topics. I continued six days a week job training between Jul 2019-Nov 2019. No new topics were added.

Jan 2020-Mar 2024: The Light Bulb Turned On Bright

I built my second desktop PC in Jan 2020. Upgraded hardware. Windows 10 operating system. Office 365 subscription. Upgraded Ubuntu from 18.04 to 20.04. I also re-evaluated the topics. Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query, Python, and SQL were the five topics each week. JSON were added on Apr 2020. A two group and two-week rotation started in Jun 2020 which continued to Mar 2024. The initial first group was Excel, Git, Linux, Power Pivot, Python, and SQL for six days. The initial second group was JSON, Power BI, Power Query, Python, and Sublime Text for six days. The COVID-19 global pandemic made the six day weekly rotation easier. Data analysis was combined with Power Pivot and dashboards was combined with Power BI starting on Aug 2020. I completed JSON in Sep 2020.

The year 2021 started with a winter break from Dec 20, 2020 to Jan 16, 2021. I changed my two group and two-week rotation. Excel and data analysis, finance, Power Query, Python, and SQL were the first group for six days a week. Git, Linux, Sublime Text; Power BI and dashboards; Power Pivot; and Python were the second group for five days a week. PowerPoint replaced finance in Jun 2021. R and R-Studio were added in Jul 2021 for Saturdays. Also, Access was added in Jul 2021 for which I finished in Nov 2021. Data analysis ended in Aug 2021. I took a Summer Sabbatical October 2021 from Oct 13, 2021-Thur Nov 4, 2021 because I was tired.

The groups changed in 2022. Excel, Power BI, Power Pivot, PowerPoint and dashboards, Python, and R and R-Studio were the first group for six days a week. Sun was the day off. Linux, Sublime Text, and Git; Power Query; Python; R and R-Studio; and SQL were the second group for five days a week. Thur and Sun were the days off. I combined Excel with PowerPoint and dashboards in the first group in Jul 2022. Thur and Sun were the days off for the first group and the second group in Jul 2022. R and R-Studio was replaced with another Python in the first group in Sep 2022.

I added Windows 10 drill training on Jan 2, 2023. Windows 10 became part of the first group. The Thur and Sun days off changed to Sat and Sun days off in Mar 2023. Jun 27, 2023 was the turning point. It was my senior year. It was time to wrap up the topics. It was time to final review everything. Here came graduation. The endgame began. Power BI, Power Pivot, Python, R and R-Studio, and SQL were the endgame topics. Git and PowerPoint and dashboards were excluded in the endgame topics. Excel, Linux, Power Query, and Sublime Text topics continued as drill training. Excel, Linux, Power Query, Python, SQL, and Sublime Text were the endgame first group. Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query, Python, and R and R-Studio were the endgame second group. Oracle SQL was the first endgame final completed on Jul 10, 2023. Windows 10 stopped in Aug 2023.

The rest of the endgame topics were completed in 2024. I finished Power BI on Jan 16, 2024. I finished Power Pivot on Jan 17, 2024. I finished SQL on Feb 14, 2024. I finished R and R-Studio on Mar 7, 2024. Topics completed were replaced with incomplete topics; for instance, one week two days of R and R-Studio and two days of Python because Power BI and Power Pivot were finished. I finished Python on Mar 25, 2024. I congratulated myself graduating. I never paid for any online training courses.

Apr 2024-?: Never Stop Learning

I began researching new skills to self-train on Mar 26, 2024. The new skills are the graduate self job training. The topics are either Excel and Power Pivot or Excel and Power Query, HTML and CSS, JavaScript, Python, and WordPress. Power Pivot and Power Query rotates every two weeks with Excel. One group. Sat and Sun are days off. Never stop innovating. Innovate infinitely.

There are multiple family priorities since Apr 1, 2024. There is no graduate self job training as of today.

Matching Connections Between People Get Along With Each Other

I dreamed last night I played softball at a privately owned softball park. The softball park consisted of many softball fields, batting cages, a soccer field, and a central building for administrative, operations, and a cafeteria.

The first part of the dream I played in the left outfield. Each team required four outfields. I played between the true left fielder and center fielder. No balls went my way. The left fielder was a grade school child. He caught all the fly balls hit his way. He fielded all the ground balls hit his way. The game ended. The grade school child was recruited for another softball team.

The second part of the dream I wondered around looking for a team who needed an outfielder. I found another team. There was a two minute interview. The team accepted me. The weirdness was the second game I played was inside the narrow rectangular office suites of an industrial building. The entrance of the office suite or the reception was the infield. The first office suite with no windows was the shallow outfield. The second office suite with windows at the back was the deep outfield. The captain, vice-captain, and I played the outfield at the second office suite. There was a fourth outfield who didn't appear in my dream.

The game started. The team played poorly. All three of us couldn't catch fly balls defensively. The team couldn't get on base offensively. It was three batters up and three batters down. The opposition scored runs without problems. There was in-team fighting and arguing. I asked the umpire named Mr. RR about the maximum seven runs scored per inning rule in the middle of the game. The umpire acknowledged the rule. The opposition scored seven runs in their inning. The umpire told the captain of the opposing team to switch sides. The captain was angry.

There was enough time in the one hour of gameplay for the final four batters to step up to the plate. I was batter number ten. I hoped at least of the three reached base for me to bat. The opposition didn't send a pitcher. Mr. RR pitched for the opposition. One of the three batters reached second base on a double. I approached the batter's box. Mr. RR gave me a wink. The first pitch was in the middle of the plate. I hit the ball deep to the outfield or the second office suite for a two run inside the park home run. The team celebrated at home plate and at the dugout like we won the championship. The game ended. I woke up.

I finished the dream consciously lying on my bed. The team went to the central building cafeteria. We ate pizza. We drank beer. There were smiles. There was socializing; although, some of the conversations was drunk talk. There was singing. There was joy. Everyone connected. I established the connections. It took one action to combine a group of people. It took one event to bring togetherness. It took one moment to be together. It took one person to spark a group of people to become together.

Graduation Means Continue Learning

I misunderstood graduation. I accepted graduating high school and college incorrectly. The congratulations were valid. The partying was earned. The relaxing was deserved. I began my vacation. The awards came afterwards.

My mistake was I stopped learning. Graduation was a validation all the requirements were fulfilled. Graduation was a completion of the learnings. Graduation opened new paths for new requirements and new basics. Graduation meant continue learning in subject one, subject two, subject three, subject four, subject five, etc. Graduation was actually a checkpoint.

I'm lucky I corrected the error in May 2015. I reviewed SQL, Excel, and Access. I made a mistake learning Salesforce with their online videos and tutorials. I made a mistake learning Tableau signing up to use their trial accounts multiple times. They were a waste of time. Power BI was better because it's free and incorporates Microsoft 365. A friend told me learn Python instead of Ruby. Relearning HTML and learning CSS and JavaScript encouraged me to redesign my personal webpage Innovate Infinitely.

I changed my training on Feb 2020. I created a two-week rotation schedule. One week was a set of job skills to learn and review. Another week was another set of job skills to learn and review. I took advantage of a new desktop PC. Consistency was strong. I graduate my job training on Tue Jun 6, 2023. Jun is graduation month. Good timing. The skills learned and/or reviewed are the following in no particular order: Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, Git, Sublime Text, Linux, PowerPoint, R, and Access.

The Endgame

I personally call my continue learning the endgame. It's possible I create multiple endgames. Multiple endgames are innovate infinitely. The endgame started on Wed Jun 7. I finished watching two Git tutorial videos for the third time. These two videos are considered my review videos when I need to review Git. The endgame continued on Fri Jun 9 when I use my old desktop to review Oracle SQL using Oracle SQL Developer. I create a personal database using the same data for Excel, Power BI, SQL, R, and Python. I create a personal Python textbook combining all the lessons I learned. Furthermore, the endgame includes life lessons I learned such as rope knots, physical fitness, paper airplanes, Morse Code, and cooking.

New Is New And Old Is Old Both As Usual

Blogger's Note: May is pic month. I'm catching up posting pics from my smart phone. Enjoy!

I drink soda catching up on all Pokemon after recycling my old shoes. The world was flat; however, the wisdom and Christmas are global. Celebrate the next birthday party eating rainbow cakes and listening to music on CDs or on a portable media.

Grading My Past Years On A Curve

I'm regrading my past years. I give myself permission for additional happiness even though it's fake and it's temporary for one day. There are no F grades. My past grading blogs: Grading My Past Years on Aug 13, 2018 for 1998-2017, 2018 Year In Review. Three Consecutive Bad Years For The First Time in My Life. on Mar 9, 2019 for 2018, 2019 Year In Review. It Was Barely A Good Year. on Mar 8, 2020 for 2019, 2020 Year In Review on Mar 27, 2021 for 2020, and 2021 Year In Review on Mar 26, 2022 for 2021.

1998 (Grade: B): I got my first full-time job after I graduated college. I self-taught Microsoft Access strengthened my resume. One of my two weekend vacations was my first time experiencing freedom.

1998 (Curve Grade: B+): I give myself additional credit I had no mentor at my first full-time job. I could have screwed up.

1999 (A): Microsoft Access helped me get a better job. I attended the biggest anime convention Anime Expo for the first time. I experienced life going my way for the first time. The flow felt good.

1999 (Curve: A): No curve for A's.

2000 (D): The Y2K problem never happened. On the other hand, the stock market crashed. Innovate Infinitely was created. Life didn't go my way. There was no flow.

2000 (Curve: C-): The end of 2000 life began to go my way.

2001 (B-): A roller coaster good year with good moments and bad moments. Anime Expo was at Long Beach, CA. I watched a Golden State Warriors basketball game at courtside. 9/11 changed the world forever.

2001 (Curve: B): I recognize a roller coaster good year again. Good years should be a minimum B grade.

2002 (B-): A roller coaster bad year with good moments and bad moments. The months Sep-Dec were good including my boss fired, shopping on eBay for the first time, and a Thanksgiving SoCal trip.

2002 (Curve: B): Likewise for 2000. The end of 2002 life began to go my way. 2002 was still a bad year.

2003 (B): Good anime conventions after bad anime conventions in 2002. Back-to-back wedding vacations in SoCal gave my family a road trip vacation which included Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. I failed to meet new people and make new friends.

2003 (Curve: B+): I'm being too generous. The end of 2003 life began to go against me. 2003 was still a good year.

2004 (A): If the only bad moments were two anime conventions, then I had a good year. I wore a costume at an anime convention for the first time. I created my own webpage Innovate Infinitely. I visited Las Vegas. Curses are meant to be broken. The Boston Red Sox won the World Series.

2004 (Curve: A): No A+ because the bad moments were two anime conventions prevented the curve.

2005 (A+): I visited Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, Canada for the first time. I purchased my first laptop. The entire 2005 was like 1999. Life flowed my way from Jan 1 to Dec 31.

2005 (Curve: A+): There's no curve for the maximum A+ grade.

2006 (A): The 2005 flow continued in 2006. I learned meeting new people and making new friends are important in life. People come and go in our lives for which I learned the lesson the hard way. I had a fun two day local business trip in San Francisco.

2006 (Curve: A): The curve holds back. No back-to-back A+'s.

2007 (F): I found a new job at Cisco. I had opportunities to make life changes which could have affected the rest of my life. I was given all the tools and all the opportunities on a silver platter. I messed up. I took life for granted saying anything bad is not going to affect me. I was naive. Most of the bad affected me later. I'm still paying for my mistakes today.

2007 (Curve: D): Think positive. I connect the dots backwards. At least the tools I acquired are valid today. I promise myself I don't repeat the mistakes of 2007.

2008 (B): 2007 continued in 2008 ending on Fri Oct 3. My life changed forever on Sat Oct 4 when I realized I must grow up. The changes paid off immediately: new clothes, read fiction books, built a new desktop PC, new mattress, new gym workouts, and a soul-searching Washington Canada vacation in Nov. I was a beginner again.

2008 (Curve: B+): My initial grade was a B-. I changed to a B two days before I published the blog. I curve the grade from a B to a B+. I give the Sat Oct 4 more credit.

2009 (A+): The growing up continued correcting my mistakes, catching up what I missed, and learning what I should have learned earlier in my life. I continued being a beginner again. Some of the events included taking ballroom dancing lessons, going back to school attending De Anza College, hiking, and playing Mahjong for the second time.

2009 (Curve: A+): There's no curve for the maximum A+ grade.

2010 (A): I experienced what's like being a full-time college student again: taking classes, meeting new people, making new friends, experiencing new experiences, and seeking new adventures. One mistake was I didn't job search. There was a chance I find a full-time job during the Great Recession. I knew people who found jobs. If I didn't find a job, then I find additional job skills I needed to learn outside the classroom.

2010 (Curve: A): The curve holds back. No back-to-back A+'s.

2011 (A): I graduated De Anza College with a AA degree in Accounting; however, the job market continued to be tough from The Great Recession. I maximized my free time experiencing new experiences and seeking new adventures for the second year in a row.

2011 (Curve: A): No curve because I didn't get a job after I graduated. The job market was tough. Gaps in resumes were frowned. Gaps in resumes are acceptable today.

2012 (B+): Lots of job interviews. No hires. Job market was tough. I had too much fun for which I should have spent time learning new job skills and reviewing existing job skills like I did in 1998 self-teaching Microsoft Access.

2012 (Curve: A-): I raise the grade because the San Francisco Giants won the 2012 World Series.

2013 (C): I learned new job skills and reviewed existing job skills incorrectly using Accountemps. Avoid Accountemps' online courses. I got a job at a retail start-up.

2013 (Curve: C+): I took me 2.5 years to find a job.

2014 (C): I retired being an anime fan. I learned new job skills and reviewed existing job skills correctly watching YouTube tutorial videos. I listened to Podcasts for the first time. I got sick for six weeks between May and Jun. I went back to a white-collar job.

2014 (Curve: C+): I found a better job.

2015 (A): I experienced new feelings being a professional mature adult. Also, I experienced new feelings sacrificing, nothing to lose, going out of my comfort zone, willpower, and not giving up. There were first time experiences including watching a live Major League Soccer game, visiting Zion National Park, and training for natural disasters. I lost ten pounds.

2015 (Curve: A): My contract was terminated in May 2015. Nobody hired me afterwards.

2016 (F): Life flowed against me. There was no control over my life. Bad luck. Bad timing. Misfortunes. Anything bad which could happen happened. Too much frustrations. I redesigned my own webpage Innovate Infinitely using JavaScript and CSS.

2016 (Curve: D-): No F's. I tried. I didn't get any breaks. 2016 is the worse year of my life. Zion National Park should be recognized for saving 2016.

2017 (D): O'Connor Hospital prevented 2017 getting an F. I was an inpatient for the first time because I had Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography and Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy surgeries. I was diagnosed with Acute Gallstone Pancreatitis. I lost 18 pounds. Job searching continued. Job training continued.

2017 (Curve: C-): I tried. I didn't get any breaks except O'Connor Hospital.

2018 (C-): I'm playing the teacher is a good mood who gives passing grades to students who try. I'm trying. I'm doing my best. I really am.

2018 (Curve: C): I recognize my grit for bearing down a year full of bad luck, bad timing, and misfortunes.

2019 (C+): 2019 is a barely a good year scoring a 51/49 good/bad. My best is 60/40 good/bad. The Self-Trained Genius increases the grade a third from a C to a C+.

2019 (Curve: B-): I raise the grade up one-third because of The Shawshank Redemption.

2020 (B): 2020 was a good year since 2015. 2019 was barely a good year 51% good and 49% bad; although I could reward myself 60% good and 40% bad. Two good years in a row. The last time I had two good years in a row were 2011-2012.

2020 (Curve: B+): I'm getting ahead of myself. I wrote a blog I Have An Answer To When Is An Adult An Adult on Jan 6, 2021. The answer is 50 years old. I achieved an adult is an adult four years ahead.

2021 (B): Actions spoke for themselves. Harry Potter two more times, consistent job training, consistent physical fitness, and correcting the 2007 Summer Sabbatical.

2021 (Curve: A-): There is recency bias. The financial education following Wallstreet Bets are paying off big time. Everything I learned since 2015 or the past six years are paying off big time. If I found a job, then the grade is A+.

Minor correction. The two good years in a row 2011-2012 was part of four good years in a row 2009-2012.

There Are Millions Of Daily Stories Nobody Knows

Today's blog is another reminder life go on. Life moves forward. Life starts for some of the living. Life stops for some of the living. Stories are made daily. A tiny fraction is reported. More bad stories are reported than good. Anything can happen.

There are the typical stories. Weddings, divorces, graduations, rejections, victories, defeats, promotions, accidents, natural disasters, new shows, and new grand openings. New discoveries, new learnings, and new opportunities. Fairness, unfairness, right place at the right time, wrong place at the wrong time, luck, and unfortunate circumstances. Rehabilitate, therapy completed, training completed, testing passed. Awakenings, I got it moments, and I did it moments. Break-ups, firings, farewells, and growing apart.

How about the not-so typical stories? These stories are unusual. They can happen. The man asks the woman in their date to drive him to the hospital because the mother of his child is giving birth. A white wife gives birth to a black baby. The white husband commits suicide. A son is divorcing his wife for which the son's mom must be present during the divorce lawyer's meetings. A husband and wife are divorcing after 60+ years of marriage because the daughter convinced the mom her dad is hiding money from the mom. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is more common than people realize; in addition, more young people are diagnosed with ED. A suicide person jumps in front of a train for which the person positions the head the impact causes the head into his chest through his neck. There are high school rapes. There are students bullying the victim using his or her peanut allergy as the weapon. A movie watcher died in a movie theater cause by choking on popcorn. Nobody heard the cries for help.

These are the negative stories. Negative stories are more likely to be reported than positive stories. We rarely hear first responders saving lives. We rarely hear random acts of kindness. We rarely hear strangers helping people in distress. We rarely hear 50+ year anniversary stories. We rarely hear 100 year old birthdays.

Maybe living a life without a story of the day can be good. Boring can be good.

Instant Bullet 2020 United States Presidential Election Version

President-elect Joe Biden is sworn as the 46th President Of The United States today. He replaces the outgoing 45th President Donald Trump. I share my thoughts on the 2020 US Presidential Election in bullet format.

*Presidential candidate Biden prepared multiple speeches. There are always multiple outcomes to events and moments. One outcome was Trump wins re-election by winning the final four battleground states. Another outcome was time for normalcy because Biden defeats Trump. I wrote a blog titled Prepare Multiple Conversation Subjects on Oct 20, 2016 because there are multiple narratives.

*Life finds a way to help people when they need help. Life finds a way to screw people when they are at the top. Life stopped flowing with Trump. Life flows with someone else named Biden.

*Ding-Dong! Trump is gone, Which one Trump? Donald Trump. Ding-Dong! Donald Trump is gone.

*Nobody is above the law. Nobody is above the system. Trump tried to change the system. Trump tried to create a new system. Trump wanted to do something different. There was nothing wrong. He failed. He was unsuccessful. On the other hand, Trump instigated his supporters to storm Capitol Hill was wrong.

*There are 46 Presidents Of The United States. These 46 Presidents are out of all the people who live or lived as naturalized born United States Citizen age 35 or over. 46 dreams came true. It's unfortunate few people accomplish their dreams completely.

*Any given day the President influences at most 25% of your daily life. Think carefully. Think deeply. The President doesn't affect much.

*Time is the ultimate judge.

*George W. Bush is not Ronald Regan. Joe Biden is not Bill Clinton. None are John F. Kennedy. I was not alive when Kennedy was President.

*The United States should be embarrassed. Many citizens from foreign countries think the United States is pathetic. The United States is the greatest country in the world. The country is the land of the free. Our democratic two party system best candidates are a celebrity businessman and a career politician prone to make mistakes.

*It's a breakup. It's no longer a match. The American people ends the relationship with Trump.

*Trump could have won re-election. The blitz promotion to vote and the mail-in absentee ballots changed from re-election to new election. COVID-19 was a factor. Give credit to the blitz promotion to change history.

*The bully Trump is bullied by the American people. The bully victims fought back.

*The Electoral College works. For example, 18.5 million votes were casted in the battleground states Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia. Biden won all four states over Trump by 125,000 votes or 0.676%.

*Who is Trump? Why did he act his way? How did he make his choices? Wait for the memoir.

*Dear Republicans. Now you know who we and Al Gore felt back in 2000 when we went to the courts trying to defeat you and George W. Bush. Sincerely, Democrats. P.S. nothing personal. It's politics.

*Dear Democrats. Now you know who we and Donald Trump felt back in 2019 when our President was impeached and acquitted just like you and Bill Clinton in 1998. Sincerely, Republicans. P.S. nothing personal. It's politics.

*Trump is the first President to be impeached twice.

I Have An Answer To When Is An Adult An Adult

I answer the question to a blog I posted on Sep 17, 2017 When Is An Adult An Adult?

Update On A Past Blog

The update is for people who want a number answer to the question. The legal number answer is 18 years old or 21 years old. Some parts of the world the legal number answer is 16 years old. My number answer is 50 years old. I'm four years ahead. *opens a bottle of wine*

50 years old. Many adults wake up and smell the coffee. Congratulations to the adults being an adult before 50 years old. Playtime is over. Jerk behavior must be stopped. It's time to be responsible. It's time to be strong. It's time to earn success. It's time to strengthen self-esteem. Adults know how not to take life for granted.

The dots are connected backwards. The connections are connected. We observe other people make the same mistakes when we were younger. It's all part of growing up. It's all part of maturity.

Finally, 50 years old doesn't mean stop living life. Continue learning. Continue innovate infinitely. Seek new adventures. Experience new experiences. Continue working hard intelligently. Continue practicing perfectly. Never stop meeting people. People continue to come and go in our lives. Hope for continue enlightenment.

It's Not Filler

Blogger's Note: May is pic month. I'm catching up posting pics from my smart phone. Enjoy!

The pics went from Feb to Mar quickly. The speed to Apr increases because COVID-19 slows my life resulting in fewer pics outside the house and more newspapers pics inside the house. The first time and last time replacing spark plugs. We lose water sleeping and awake. Parents teach because of love. Air bags save lives while driving or parking in emergencies. New experiences in baking bread, plant transfer, and toilet bowl warranties. The world experiences a new experience with the COVID-19 pandemic.
