Throwback Blog: Maintenance Is Important As Innovating Infinitely

Blogger's Note: Throwback blogs are blogs from my past. I start posting past blogs reflecting what I wrote. It's like my "A Second Look" blogs for which I give myself feedback.

Today's throwback blog is titled Maintenance Is Important As Innovating Infinitely written on Nov 6, 2016. I remind busy people, intelligently working hard people, and always active people must find time to maintain their bodies. Body maintenance is mandatory to minimize personal problems physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial. Nobody can live 24/7 being busy, being workaholics, and being awake. The maintenances are below.

We hear about innovation daily in the media. A company, person, or persons discover something innovative. Daily life changes. Also, employees in a company think about innovation. How can a procedure be more efficient? How can a product be cheaper? How can a service make more money? The mindset everyday is doing better. Improve. Innovate infinitely.

I blog maintenance. Maintenance is today's center of attention because many people neglect maintenance. I admit some days I ignore maintenance for which I actually maintain myself each day. The simplest example is sleep. Sleep is a body maintenance. Sleep is resting my body, mind, and soul. Sleep is my spiritual practice. I have more life maintenances listed below:

*Car. I maintain my car checking the oil, inspecting the tires for nails, and visual check the engine for bad smells and leaks when I fill up the car with gas. I also maintain my car at home checking all fluids and tire air pressure.

*Computer. I maintain my computer and laptop backing up my files. I download the latest Windows updates, anti-virus updates, and software updates.

*Clean house. I maintain the house vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms, dusting, and moping the kitchen floors. I also include washing the dishes, laundry, and organizing. I maintain a clutter free living environment.

*Job skills. I maintain or review my core skills including Excel, Access, and SQL during my job search. I have been learning new skills such as Python and CSS. I'm currently maintaining or reviewing VBA which I learned earlier in 2016.

*Gym. I maintain my body working out at the gym four to five days a week. Weightlifting and cardio are my workouts.

*Bare necessities. Another body maintenance is keeping myself clean and groomed. Take a shower. Shave. Brush teeth twice a day. Cut my finger nails and toe nails. Haircut. Apply lotion to dry skin.

Maintenance can be boring. Maintenance must be done. Review. Drill. Repeat. Use it or lose it. Maintenance is a way to get back. Go back to the basics when in trouble. An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure. Moreover, finding time for maintenance can slow us down in a positive way. Take it easy. Relax.

I Own 15 Pairs Of Shoes

I own 15 pairs of shoes for different situations. If men own multiple pairs of shoes for multiple situations, then men should stop complaining women owning too many pairs of shoes. Women own multiple pairs of shoes for multiple situations, too. Sometimes one pair of shoes fits one particular outfit.

Shoes are useful. Shoes have practical purposes. Shoes are art. Shoes attract both men and women. Be honest. We buy shoes for practical uses and for looks. Nobody wears an ugly shoe. I post pics of all my shoes.

The left pair is skater shoes for daily errands. The Nike Air Max Bruin is comfortable, durable, and snug. The middle pair is my cardio workouts. The left pair is my strength training.

The left pair is boots for cold weather social gatherings. The middle pair is for hiking and backpacking. The right pair is my R.O.T.C. military boots in high school. The military boots still fit my feet. I wear the military boots for maximum protection. Today's military boots are lighter and easier to maintain. A new pair is on my wish list.

The left pair is hiking water sandals. I wore the sandals for a two day backpacking trip at Zion National Park The Narrows Top Down. The water sandals survived. The middle pair is camping sandals to walk around the campsite or backup sandals when I backpack multiple days. The right pair is for light hiking and cold weather or rainy weather daily errands.

The left pair is old cardio workouts I wear knowing my shoes get dirty. The right pair is for social gatherings and going to work.

The left pair is for formal social gatherings and formal professional gatherings. The right pair is cleats for playing sports on the grass. The cleats are Nike Air Conversion I purchased at a mom and pop sporting goods store named Mel Cottons. The cleats were on clearance from $69.99 to $29.99.

The left pair is hiking water sandals. I wore the sandals for a day hike at Zion National Park The Subway Left Fork Bottom Up and a day hike at Zion National Park The Narrows Bottom Up. The right pair is dancing shoes. I took ballroom dancing classes at a junior college.

Here is another reason to open your automobile's hood when filling your automobile with gas. I have been driving less because of the COVID-19 pandemic and government shutdown. Animals built a shelter or nest on my car's intake manifold. The debris is cleared. I'm fortunate there is no engine damage. Read the procedures Routine Car Maintenance At The Gas Station written on Apr 30, 2014. The visual inspection includes looking for debris.

Instant Bullet 2020 United States Presidential Election Version

President-elect Joe Biden is sworn as the 46th President Of The United States today. He replaces the outgoing 45th President Donald Trump. I share my thoughts on the 2020 US Presidential Election in bullet format.

*Presidential candidate Biden prepared multiple speeches. There are always multiple outcomes to events and moments. One outcome was Trump wins re-election by winning the final four battleground states. Another outcome was time for normalcy because Biden defeats Trump. I wrote a blog titled Prepare Multiple Conversation Subjects on Oct 20, 2016 because there are multiple narratives.

*Life finds a way to help people when they need help. Life finds a way to screw people when they are at the top. Life stopped flowing with Trump. Life flows with someone else named Biden.

*Ding-Dong! Trump is gone, Which one Trump? Donald Trump. Ding-Dong! Donald Trump is gone.

*Nobody is above the law. Nobody is above the system. Trump tried to change the system. Trump tried to create a new system. Trump wanted to do something different. There was nothing wrong. He failed. He was unsuccessful. On the other hand, Trump instigated his supporters to storm Capitol Hill was wrong.

*There are 46 Presidents Of The United States. These 46 Presidents are out of all the people who live or lived as naturalized born United States Citizen age 35 or over. 46 dreams came true. It's unfortunate few people accomplish their dreams completely.

*Any given day the President influences at most 25% of your daily life. Think carefully. Think deeply. The President doesn't affect much.

*Time is the ultimate judge.

*George W. Bush is not Ronald Regan. Joe Biden is not Bill Clinton. None are John F. Kennedy. I was not alive when Kennedy was President.

*The United States should be embarrassed. Many citizens from foreign countries think the United States is pathetic. The United States is the greatest country in the world. The country is the land of the free. Our democratic two party system best candidates are a celebrity businessman and a career politician prone to make mistakes.

*It's a breakup. It's no longer a match. The American people ends the relationship with Trump.

*Trump could have won re-election. The blitz promotion to vote and the mail-in absentee ballots changed from re-election to new election. COVID-19 was a factor. Give credit to the blitz promotion to change history.

*The bully Trump is bullied by the American people. The bully victims fought back.

*The Electoral College works. For example, 18.5 million votes were casted in the battleground states Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia. Biden won all four states over Trump by 125,000 votes or 0.676%.

*Who is Trump? Why did he act his way? How did he make his choices? Wait for the memoir.

*Dear Republicans. Now you know who we and Al Gore felt back in 2000 when we went to the courts trying to defeat you and George W. Bush. Sincerely, Democrats. P.S. nothing personal. It's politics.

*Dear Democrats. Now you know who we and Donald Trump felt back in 2019 when our President was impeached and acquitted just like you and Bill Clinton in 1998. Sincerely, Republicans. P.S. nothing personal. It's politics.

*Trump is the first President to be impeached twice.

Update On A Past Blog

Today's blog is a continuation of two past blogs on the 2020 Election. The first blog is United States Of America Today Is Election Day 2020 written on Election Day Nov 3, 2020. A 46 Year Old Mind And Spirit Inside A 13 Year Old Body

Blogger's note: The title A 46 Year Old Mind And Spirit Inside A 13 Year Old Body is incorrect. The title A 45 Year Old Mind And Spirit Inside A 13 Year Old Body is correct.

I dreamed last night my adult mind and adult spirit was inside a preteen boy. Warped to the past. Transferred to the past. Reincarnated to the past. Transported to another universe. Slid to another dimension. Traveled permanently to another world. The reader can make up any verb.

I was in eighth grade at my actual same junior high school. The class was physical education (PE). The PE teachers combined the boys and girls for co-ed basketball. The class was held in the cafeteria which was also the gym. The boys and girls lined up. The coaches randomly assigned the boys and girls to teams. I maintained my mind and spirit as a 46 year old on planet Earth on January 9, 2021 throughout the team selection. I asked myself in the back of my head, "What's going on here? Why am I back in junior high?" I reminded myself I know Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar being the NBA's all-time scoring leader.

I was selected in team #3. My team played poorly. We didn't play as a team. We were confused. Nobody knew how to play basketball. I took charge. I became like Draymond Green of the Warriors. I directed my team to play offense and play defense. I played like Curry shooting long range shots and passing to open players.

I became popular during the lunch hour. I went to the outdoor basketball courts after I ate lunch at the benches. I talked with my classmates on random topics. Students came up to me asking how to play basketball. Two particular students thanked me and bowed to me as if I'm their grandfather.

My philosophical question is the following: Are genius people geniuses being possessed from another person's mind and spirit? Any person with past knowledge and past experience has an advantage.

I Have An Answer To When Is An Adult An Adult

I answer the question to a blog I posted on Sep 17, 2017 When Is An Adult An Adult?

Update On A Past Blog

The update is for people who want a number answer to the question. The legal number answer is 18 years old or 21 years old. Some parts of the world the legal number answer is 16 years old. My number answer is 50 years old. I'm four years ahead. *opens a bottle of wine*

50 years old. Many adults wake up and smell the coffee. Congratulations to the adults being an adult before 50 years old. Playtime is over. Jerk behavior must be stopped. It's time to be responsible. It's time to be strong. It's time to earn success. It's time to strengthen self-esteem. Adults know how not to take life for granted.

The dots are connected backwards. The connections are connected. We observe other people make the same mistakes when we were younger. It's all part of growing up. It's all part of maturity.

Finally, 50 years old doesn't mean stop living life. Continue learning. Continue innovate infinitely. Seek new adventures. Experience new experiences. Continue working hard intelligently. Continue practicing perfectly. Never stop meeting people. People continue to come and go in our lives. Hope for continue enlightenment.

Instant Bullets Blog Jan 5, 2021

*Basic PC skills are a must to live in today's Information Age. These skills may save time and money. I returned a defective USB-C to a mom and pop computer store. The COVID-19 pandemic is big business because the minimum wait time for desktop and laptop repair service is seven days. Also, the store reduced their hours to spend more time on repair orders.

*If you don't want the deal, you can just hang up.

*Jenga. Jenga is more than a toy. Jenga can be used as a business presentation. Jenga can be better than PowerPoint. One goes down, they all go down.

*I dreamed I reunited with my friends at a Fry's Electronics store in San Ramon, CA. Fry's doesn't have a store in San Ramon, CA. One of my friends purchased sandwiches inside their deli. The same friend of my friends tried to burglarized my big house on a hill.

My second dream my dad, mom, uncle, and aunt flew to Utah to visit Zion National Park. I phoned my same friend above on my second Nokia cell phone I couldn't make another gathering.

*Couples With Relationship Problems. Watch Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011). The movie may save your relationship the both of you spent years bonding. Minor spoiler: Don't do the Dirty Dancing scene. Professional dancers are the stunt doubles dancing the scene. I took ballroom dancing classes a decade ago.

*Anime Con Guides. I attended anime conventions from 1997 to 2013. The total weight of all convention guides I saved is 13 pounds.

*Quick Questions After A Formal Interview I believe some interviewers ask quick-no-right-or-wrong interview questions at the end of an interview to calm the interviewee. Here are five suggested quick questions:

1. Favorite athlete or favorite actor or favorite author? 2. Favorite movie? 3. What is the one musical CD on a desert island? 4. Best show on TV today? 5. Share a hobby.

My answers are favorite athlete is Buster Posey, favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption, Let It Be by The Beatles is my one CD on a desert island, Breaking Bad is my answer to the best show on TV today because I rarely watch TV, and working out is one of my hobbies.

*New Baby Names. I have a suggestion for parents who need name suggestions. Look at your bookshelf. Find your favorite books. Choose names from those fiction books or non-fiction books.

Top Ten Plus One Equals Eleven It Was Like A Bad Year

The year 2020 was a bad year for many people. These people the 2020 bad year was beyond their control. It was nobody's fault. They were a victim of circumstances. Bad luck. Bad timing. Life flowed against them.

Everyone experiences bad years. Everyone experiences bad changes. Unfortunately, some people experience more bad years beyond their control. It's life. The dice rolled more one's than six's. I make my own case I experience more than my share of bad years beyond my control.

I exclude stupidity and ignorance from the top ten list. The stomach flu is not stupidity and ignorance. I got the stomach flu in Dec 1990. I didn't attend a party my family was invited by an Apple executive. I stayed home lying down on my bed recovering and being depressed. Here are the top ten plus one equals eleven it was like a bad year:

11. One Month Sickness (May 2014). It was a miracle I needed one day off when I worked at a retail start-up. Fatigue, fever, coughing, and sore throat were the symptoms of my throat infection and, unrelated, a bacterial eye infection. Two infections were horrible. Recovery was immediate when I stopped drinking water from the Brita. The full details are blogged Me Versus My Throat Infection And Eye Infection on Aug 15, 2014.

10. Anime Expo 2000 (Jun 30-Jul 3, 2000). One of the worse anime conventions in the history of anime conventions. Some convention attendees said the convention never happened. Disneyland staff was mostly blamed.

9. Graduated At Another High School (1992). The economic recession in 1990 caused my high school district to close two schools permanently due to budget cuts. One of the two schools I attended from 9th grade to 11th grade was chosen to close. I attended my senior year at another high school. The students from different high schools didn't get along. I never attended a school for four years or more from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Side note: The second high school reopened in 1997 because of district overcrowding. The year opened with 9th graders and 10th graders.

8. Manager Changed Overnight (2004). It was a flip of a switch. One of the managers at the retail start-up changed overnight. He treated all workers from the second store and a worker from the first store like dirt. My co-workers and I from the second store agreed it was stress.

In addition, the company hired a new beer buyer in May 2014. The end of his first day he submitted his two-week notice. He witnessed mismanagement. He was correct. Also, the full-time store manager at the second store was fired in Aug 2014. He was the fall guy being blamed for poor store sales.

7. Family Gatherings (Various Dates). I should be grateful for family; however, I disclose most family gatherings are boring. I lose my intelligence. I waste my time. My immediate family has few stories to share.

6. My Sister's Ex-Boyfriends (Various Dates). I disclose I had nothing in common with the ex-boyfriends. I rarely engage with them one-on-one. She brought them to almost every family gathering. There is no loss at the end. All of them were losers. All was well which ended well from my perspective. All future boyfriends are losers until proven otherwise. I lost my intelligence when they spoke. I wasted my time when I listened. Being quiet sucked.

5. Selected De Anza Classes (2009-2011). There were four classes which either didn't meet my expectations or taught poorly. Fortunately, I dropped two classes of the four which were Japanese I and Advanced Accounting. A sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, I should have dropped the two other classes. The first class was Beginning Singing. The instructor was legitimate. My expectations didn't match the instructor's expectations. I should have dropped the class instead of wasting one night a week. The second class was Cost Accounting. The instructor was lazy. The class was overcrowded. I should have taken my chances hoping Cost Accounting was offered in a future academic quarter.

4. Depression (Various Dates). Human beings suffering depression is proof you're human. I recognize my depression in 10th grade, year 2000, Aug-Sep 2008, and Dec 2018-Sep 2019. I'm fortunate I recovered from all depressions with life lessons learned.

3. Soiled My Pants (Aug 2013). I soiled my pants driving home from a weekend river rafting trip at the Russian River in the Northern California wine country. Enough said.

2. Acute Gallstone Pancreatitis (Apr 2, 2017-Apr 6, 2017). I experienced stomach flu like pains which happened the first time on Mar 5, 2017. The second time stomach flu like pains were severe. I coughed the entire night two nights in a row. The next day I went to the emergency room at a local hospital on Apr 2, 2017. I was admitted as an in-patient. I required two surgeries. The first surgery was Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography which removed gallstones. The second surgery was Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy which removed my gallbladder.

1. Four Days In Barstow, CA (Aug 2004). My brother and his wife's family vacationed in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. There was a fatal car accident in Barstow. My dad and I flew to Ontario, CA to pick up everyone who survived. The first day flying to Ontario and renting a van is still the longest day of my life.

Accutane Day 4,336

My face continues to get more spots which I call freckles or life marks. The common slang is life marks. I use Burt's Bee lip balm when my lips are dried. No facial cream applied to my face in the Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 months.

My face looks handsome after every shave. Some of my pores or acne scars disappear after every shave in the morning. The evening the pores or acne scars reappear. Maybe my eyes are deceiving me. I don’t know why.

I want another Accutane treatment because bumps are reappearing on both sides of my face near my ears. I wait for full medical coverage to pursue treatment. There must be new treatments today compared to 2009.
