Shelter In-Place COVID-19 Blog August 2025

California issued shelter in-place orders on Tue Mar 17, 2020. I have been logging the highlights and lowlights. The federal government changed the policies for people eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. The number of positive cases continue to increase.

Tue Aug 5. The Secretary Of Health And Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. cancelled contracts and funding for vaccines being developed for respiratory viruses. 22 projects totaling $500 million for mRNA vaccines halted. Kennedy removed the COVID-19 vaccine recommendations, fired the panel which recommends vaccines, and stopped vaccine endorsements. Pfizer and Moderna are two pharmaceutical companies affected by the cancelled contracts.

Kennedy is a critic of mRNA vaccines. He wants safer and broader vaccines which don't stop working when a virus mutates.

The COVID-19 variant XFG called Stratus was first detected in Jan 2025 in Southeast Asia. Stratus accounted for 14% of the cases in the USA as of late Jun 2025 according to the Center For Disease Control (CDC). The World Health Organization (WHO) added XFG to the watch list in late Jun. Low public health risk. There's no evidence XFG causes more severe sickness or different symptoms.

The CDC reported XFG accounted for 14% of positive cases, NB.1.8.1 43%, and LP.8.1 31% as of Jun 21.

Fri Aug 8. Shopped at Lucky's and Costco. Filled my car with gas at Chevron.

First day in 2025 daytime temperatures were in the 90s.

President Donald Trump ordered all federal agencies to delete COVID-19 vaccination statuses, prior mandate noncompliances, or exemption requests. Federal agencies are barred from using COVID-19 personal records for any employee related decision. The Trump administration removed pandemic mandates during the Biden administration.

Sat Aug 9. A shooter from Kennesaw, GA named Patrick Joeph White shot rounds at the CDC and a pharmacy. White blamed the COVID-19 vaccine made him depressed and suicidal. DeKalb County police officer David Ross was mortally wounded. White was fatally shot.

Thur Aug 14. Emergency room visits increased because more people tested positive. The XFG variant called Stratus is the most common strain. The significant symptom is a razor blade feeling sore throat. The WHO is monitoring Stratus. The WHO said the current vaccines protect against Stratus.

Sat Aug 16. Purchased a used outdoor garden storage bin in Sunnyvale, CA.

Tue Aug 19. The American Academy Of Pediatrics released an updated recommendations for COVID-19 vaccinations for infants and young children. Children age 6 months to 23 months receive a vaccine. If these children are allergic to the ingredients or have allergies, then they shouldn't receive the vaccine. Children ages 2 years to 18 years receive the vaccine if they are high risk, residents of long-term care facilities, never been vaccinated, or live in a household with people at high risk for COVID-19.

The CDC recommendation for infants and young children is a discussion between their parents and their doctor. The guidance is called "shared clinical decision making." The prior recommendation was people aged six months and older receive the latest vaccine without third party advice.

Wed Aug 20. Shopping at Safeway, Books, Inc., and Costco.

Fri Aug 22. The American College Of Obstetricians And Gynecologists recommended the COVID-19 vaccine for pregnant women. The CDC removed the recommendation for pregnant women and lactating women.

Sun Aug 24. Lunch at The Olive Garden. Shopped at the farmer's market at the Great Mall.

Wed Aug 27. The FDA updated the COVID-19 vaccine approvals for a limited group of people. Adults age 65 and older and people age 5 to 64 at risk with an underlying condition are approved for the vaccine. The Moderna vaccine is authorized for children age 6 months and older. The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for people age 5 years and older. The Novavax is authorized for people age 12 years and older. The parents must consult with their doctors before vaccination for people under age 18.

All emergency authorizations are rescinded. A FDA statement stated COVID-19 vaccines are available to anyone with a doctor's consultation.

The 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine targets LP.8.1 which is a JN.1 subvariant.

CDC Director Susan Monarez was fired by the Trump administration. Several senior CDC officials resigned afterwards. Health And Human Services deputy secretary Jim O'Neill is the acting CDC director.

Shopped at Target.

Thur Aug 28. Shopped for used books at the Saratoga Library and Los Gatos Library. Ate lunch at Chipotle.

Sat Aug 30. Played tabletop games at the Guildhouse.

The FDA approved the 2025 updated COVID-19 vaccines for adults age 65 and older and younger people with underlying conditions. Anyone can get a vaccine shop after consulting with a doctor; however, access may be difficult. A doctor prescribes the vaccine as "off label." Off label is defined as a medical product used outside approvals or not FDA approved. The updated vaccines are available in the fall.

CVS Pharmacy administers the vaccines where legally permitted. CVS follows state-level pharmacy regulations. Pharmacists don't administer vaccines not recommended by the CDC's Advisory Committee On Immunization Practices in some states. Walgreens also follow state regulations and FDA policy.

The CDC data reported 71.5% of shots were administered in pharmacies and 9.2% at clinics or health centers during the 2023-2024 respiratory virus season. Also, 23% adults and 13% children reported getting the latest vaccine.

People under Medicare and Medicaid who meet FDA policy their vaccines are covered. It's unknown how private insurance companies cover vaccines for their clients. People can get a flu shot and a COVID-19 vaccine at the same time if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Sun Aug 31. Watched Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Miami (FL) Hurricanes from the two minute mark in the third quarter to the end of the game.

Allergies And Coughs July 2024

I got sick in Jul 2024. The last time I got sick was in Apr 2022 Allergies And Coughs April 2022. I blog how I treated myself and the likely causes because I want to reference my treatment the next time I get sick. No panic. Obvious symptoms. Pain never severe. Slow and long recovery compared to the Apr 2022 which was quick.

Tue Jul 2, 2024. Irritating throat. Phlegm down my throat. Possible allergies. First day over 100 degrees in 2024. Turned on the residence air conditioning for the first time in 2024. Drank Coke for dinner.

Wed Jul 3. Took Zyrtec at midnight 12:00am. Minor runny nose. Light cough. White color phlegm. Appetite suppressed. Aches in my legs and calves. Lots of sleep. Slept with Breathe Right nasal strips.

Thur Jul 4. Took Zyrtec at 12:26am. Headaches. Light coughing. Yellow color phlegm. One nap. COVID-19 test negative.

I feared all the minor symptoms became worse in the upcoming days. Lower back pain. Poor appetite. I forced myself to eat.

Fri Jul 5. Took Zyrtec at 12:40am. Coughing woke me up at 5:20am. My stomach growling woke me up at 6:30am. Body sweated. I felt throwing up for which I didn't. Went back to sleep at 7:50am. I woke up at 10:50am. I made Jello.

I felt my sickness was the stomach flu without throwing up. My meals were Jello, bread, saltine crackers, and ginger ale. I questioned a stomach virus caused a loss of appetite. Throat felt sore when I swallowed only.

Sat Jul 6. Took Zyrtec at 1:00am. Best sleep of the week. No interruptions. Post nasal drip caused little coughing. Continued sleeping with Breathe Right nasal strips.

Sun Jul 7. Took Zyrtec at 1:55am. More coughing. More stomach aches. More pooping. White color phlegm. I felt worse.

I changed my meals plan. I ate small portions solid food starting at dinner. My initial plan was eat solid foods starting tomorrow. My mom suggested I stop drinking Canada Dry ginger ale. I accepted. I went back to Coke which was not expired. I immediately felt better.

Mon Jul 8. Took Zyrtec at 1:20am. Little coughing delayed my full sleep briefly. Ate more solid foods gradually. Chocolate soothed coughs since coughing started. White color phlegm. Lost five pounds from 160lbs to 155lbs.

Tue Jul 9. Took Zyrtec at 8:00am. Lots of coughing. Ate lots of chocolate. Coolest day of the month. Another heat wave started tomorrow.

Wed Jul 10. Took Zyrtec at 12:00pm. Coughing started after drinking Coke for dinner. No Coke tomorrow.

My right ear was sensitive when I dried my ears with Q-Tips. I wanted to cough.

Thur Jul 11. Took Zyrtec at 12:15pm. I lied. I drank Coke for dinner. No effect on coughing. No coughing for most of the day. I thought Coke from last night increased coughing. It was false. Recovery was faster as long as I sleep.

Fri Jul 12. Took Zyrtec at 1:15pm.

Sat Jul 13. Took Zyrtec at 1:15pm. Setback. I wasn't ready to stop taking Zyrtec. Weather was cooler and muggy. Post nasal drip intensified. More coughing. I brought back Coke for at least one meal a day.

Sun Jul 14. Took Zyrtec at 1:20pm. No improvements. My parents turned on the air conditioning even thought the temperatures were in the mid 80s. My body failed to adjust to the 80s weather. I continued drinking Coke and eating chocolate. Sleeps were good.

Mon Jul 15. I forgot to take Zyrtec in the afternoon. Worst night sleeping relatively speaking. I took a long time to fall asleep. I ate chocolate to fall asleep. No change in coughing.

I needed to move my body. I began modified workouts. I took Zyrtec at 11:00pm. I needed a Zyrtec for 30 minutes on the stationary cycle.

Tue Jul 16. Took Zyrtec at 11:00pm. I connected the dots backwards. Triple whammy. Triple sickness. I got Respiratory Syncytial Virus or RSV, stomach flu, and RSV for the second time afterwards. I couldn't get COVID-19 because my parents didn't get sick.

All three of the following continued. I drank Coke for lunch and dinner. I ate chocolate to soothe my coughs. I slept with Breathe Right nasal strips.

Wed Jul 17. Took Zyrtec at 11:00pm. I was sensitive to cold. I drink Coke for dinner only. I could change back to lunch and dinner. I needed chocolate to fall asleep.

Thur Jul 18. Took Zyrtec at 11:00pm. No Coke.

Fri Jul 19. No Zyrtec. White color phlegm. I ate chocolate to soothe my coughs and to relieve post nasal drip.

Mon Jul 22. No Zyrtec. White color phlegm. I ate chocolate to relieve post nasal drip.

Thur Jul 25. Popping my ears continued.

Sat Jul 27. Below average temperatures today. I was sensitive to the cooler weather. I needed more chocolate.

Wed Jul 31. Best sleep. No chocolate to fall asleep. No coughing.

Mon Aug 5. Began full workouts.

How Did I Get Sick?

The sickness could be titled as avoidable mistakes. I experienced stomach aches staring on Fri Jun 21, 2024. I could have drank more Coke. I could have not eaten too ripped pineapple. I could have avoided too much exercise; in other words, don't exercise more than the appropriate meals I ate to exercise safely. And I shouldn't drink expired sodas. Here are the possible causes:

Four mile jog became a five mile jog. I ate a poor lunch. My physical fitness wanted a four mile job. My emotions wanted a five mile jog. Sickness from fatigue. Probability: 80%.

Multiple days stomach aches. Did I get the stomach flu beforehand? Probability: 75%.

Slept with the desk fan on and windows fully open. I forgot to turn off the fan and forgot to close the windows before I went to sleep. I turned off the fan and closed the windows at the 7am hour. The error reminded me of the Jul 2000 sickness; however, the Jul 2000 summer weather was unseasonable cold. Probability: 60%.

Weather temperatures variance. My body is weak when I adjust from a big temperature change. Probability: 30%.

Family birthday gathering. There was a family gathering to celebrate my cousin's twin sons one year birthday on Jun 30, 2024. Weather was warm. I limited my meals because of my continued stomach aches. Was somebody else sick? Probability: 25%.

Dirty water pitchers. I didn't wash the water pitchers for months. Probability: 10%.

Top Ten Plus One Equals Eleven It Was Like A Bad Year

The year 2020 was a bad year for many people. These people the 2020 bad year was beyond their control. It was nobody's fault. They were a victim of circumstances. Bad luck. Bad timing. Life flowed against them.

Everyone experiences bad years. Everyone experiences bad changes. Unfortunately, some people experience more bad years beyond their control. It's life. The dice rolled more one's than six's. I make my own case I experience more than my share of bad years beyond my control.

I exclude stupidity and ignorance from the top ten list. The stomach flu is not stupidity and ignorance. I got the stomach flu in Dec 1990. I didn't attend a party my family was invited by an Apple executive. I stayed home lying down on my bed recovering and being depressed. Here are the top ten plus one equals eleven it was like a bad year:

11. One Month Sickness (May 2014). It was a miracle I needed one day off when I worked at a retail start-up. Fatigue, fever, coughing, and sore throat were the symptoms of my throat infection and, unrelated, a bacterial eye infection. Two infections were horrible. Recovery was immediate when I stopped drinking water from the Brita. The full details are blogged Me Versus My Throat Infection And Eye Infection on Aug 15, 2014.

10. Anime Expo 2000 (Jun 30-Jul 3, 2000). One of the worse anime conventions in the history of anime conventions. Some convention attendees said the convention never happened. Disneyland staff was mostly blamed.

9. Graduated At Another High School (1992). The economic recession in 1990 caused my high school district to close two schools permanently due to budget cuts. One of the two schools I attended from 9th grade to 11th grade was chosen to close. I attended my senior year at another high school. The students from different high schools didn't get along. I never attended a school for four years or more from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Side note: The second high school reopened in 1997 because of district overcrowding. The year opened with 9th graders and 10th graders.

8. Manager Changed Overnight (2004). It was a flip of a switch. One of the managers at the retail start-up changed overnight. He treated all workers from the second store and a worker from the first store like dirt. My co-workers and I from the second store agreed it was stress.

In addition, the company hired a new beer buyer in May 2014. The end of his first day he submitted his two-week notice. He witnessed mismanagement. He was correct. Also, the full-time store manager at the second store was fired in Aug 2014. He was the fall guy being blamed for poor store sales.

7. Family Gatherings (Various Dates). I should be grateful for family; however, I disclose most family gatherings are boring. I lose my intelligence. I waste my time. My immediate family has few stories to share.

6. My Sister's Ex-Boyfriends (Various Dates). I disclose I had nothing in common with the ex-boyfriends. I rarely engage with them one-on-one. She brought them to almost every family gathering. There is no loss at the end. All of them were losers. All was well which ended well from my perspective. All future boyfriends are losers until proven otherwise. I lost my intelligence when they spoke. I wasted my time when I listened. Being quiet sucked.

5. Selected De Anza Classes (2009-2011). There were four classes which either didn't meet my expectations or taught poorly. Fortunately, I dropped two classes of the four which were Japanese I and Advanced Accounting. A sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, I should have dropped the two other classes. The first class was Beginning Singing. The instructor was legitimate. My expectations didn't match the instructor's expectations. I should have dropped the class instead of wasting one night a week. The second class was Cost Accounting. The instructor was lazy. The class was overcrowded. I should have taken my chances hoping Cost Accounting was offered in a future academic quarter.

4. Depression (Various Dates). Human beings suffering depression is proof you're human. I recognize my depression in 10th grade, year 2000, Aug-Sep 2008, and Dec 2018-Sep 2019. I'm fortunate I recovered from all depressions with life lessons learned.

3. Soiled My Pants (Aug 2013). I soiled my pants driving home from a weekend river rafting trip at the Russian River in the Northern California wine country. Enough said.

2. Acute Gallstone Pancreatitis (Apr 2, 2017-Apr 6, 2017). I experienced stomach flu like pains which happened the first time on Mar 5, 2017. The second time stomach flu like pains were severe. I coughed the entire night two nights in a row. The next day I went to the emergency room at a local hospital on Apr 2, 2017. I was admitted as an in-patient. I required two surgeries. The first surgery was Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography which removed gallstones. The second surgery was Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy which removed my gallbladder.

1. Four Days In Barstow, CA (Aug 2004). My brother and his wife's family vacationed in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. There was a fatal car accident in Barstow. My dad and I flew to Ontario, CA to pick up everyone who survived. The first day flying to Ontario and renting a van is still the longest day of my life.

Allergies And Coughs November 2018

I got sick a third time in 2018. Frustrating again. The first time I got sick was Jan 2018 Allergies And Coughs January 2018. The second time I got sick was Apr 2018 Allergies And Coughs April 2018. I blog how I treated myself and the likely causes because I want to reference my treatment the next time I get sick. I didn't panic. Obvious symptoms. Minimal pain. Quick recovery. Today's blog is minimally edited.

Sat Nov 24, 2018. Sore throat began late night. I confirmed after drinking water the pain was sore throat pain instead of dry throat pain. I began thinking about the causes for my upcoming sickness. I felt warm to cold in a warm room. I felt eating.

Sun Nov 25. My body wanted a double breakfast. I took an afternoon nap. It was too early to tell how to treat my upcoming sickness. I hoped my sickness was a sore throat only. My ears popped open at night when I opened my mouth.

Mon Nov 26. Sore throat improved. Runny nose at night. White color mucus. No nap.

Tue Nov 27. I woke up with a stuffy nose. Phlegm ran down my throat. If I coughed, then bad news because there was sickness. No yogurt. No medications. No drugs. I drank Coke. Ate wisely. Took naps. White color phlegm. I coughed once at Staples. I coughed once before lunch. I took a 2.5 hour afternoon nap. Sore throat disappeared at night. I slept with a Breathe Right strip.

Wed Nov 28. One long coughed. If I long coughed a few times, then I took Mucinex DM. I wore my Breathe Right strip all day. Recovery was faster as long as I sleep well. My past sicknesses recovery was slow when I coughed while I fall asleep. White phlegm color. I took a one hour nap. I coughed. Phlegm down my throat. Yellow phlegm color. I took Mucinex DM at 10pm. Weather temperatures normal for Nov and autumn season.

Thur Nov 29. No problems sleeping last night. I continue drinking Coke for lunch and dinner. I took a Mucinex DM at 10:15am. Ears popped when I opened my mouth. I had diarrhea after breakfast. I watched my liquid intake. My causes for diarrhea were either too much liquid in my body or Mucinex DM. Coughs were dry and few throughout the day. I worked out at the gym lifting weights on machines minimal workout. No coughing at the gym. I took a Mucinex DM at 11:30pm drinking a few sips of water instead of a full glass. No diarrhea. I wore a Breathe Right strip when I slept.

Fri Nov 30. I slept 10+ hours last night. The heater was accidentally on throughout the night woke me up at 6:45am. My throat felt dry fearing another sore throat. I drank three sips of water. I went back to bed after turning off the heater. I woke up at 11am. No coughing. I took a Mucinex DM at 11:30am. White phlegm color. I worked out at the gym free weights minimal workout. I took a Mucinex DM at midnight.

Sat Dec 1. Good sleep last night. I took a Mucinex DM at 12:10pm. I had diarrhea three times. My body must be rejecting Mucinex DM. I stopped taking Mucinex DM.

Sun Dec 2. One diarrhea in the morning. Last day I drank Coke.

Tue Dec 4. Cardio workout 20 minutes on the cycle and 20 minutes on the treadmill.

Wed Dec 5. Cardio workout 20 minutes on the cycle and 20 minutes on the treadmill.

How Did I Get Sick

My brother's family. All of them had the flu the week before they visited for Thanksgiving holiday. They showed no symptoms when they visited. Probability: 20%.

In the air. It's flu season. It's Black Friday where people shopped at stores. Probability: 40%.

Poor lunch. I ate a poor lunch when we came home for Black Friday to rest. There was more shopping in the afternoon. Probability: 33%.

Mom's leftover bad chicken. I was the only person eating my mom's leftover bad chicken to make homemade fried rice in the microwave. Probability: 25%.

Frozen shrimp. The family ate frozen shrimp the day after Thanksgiving. I ate cold frozen shrimp. I initially thought it got cold after being on the serving plate. Maybe my shrimp was not fully cooked. Food allergy was my sickness. Probability: 70%.

Poor body hygiene. I didn't wash my hair in four days. Probability: 10%.

Allergies And Coughs April 2018

I got sick a second time in 2018. Frustrating. The first time I got sick was Jan 2018 Allergies And Coughs January 2018. I blog how I treated myself and the likely causes because I want to reference my treatment the next time I get sick. I didn't panic. There was trial and error. I took Mucinex DM and Zyrtec. Coke, chocolate, and naps were important. Today's blog is minimally edited.

Fri Apr 27, 2018. Sore throat in the middle of the morning. Cooler morning. I dressed up wearing long pants pajamas and a sweat shirt. Weather in the 80s earlier in the week. Mental fatigue began on Wed Apr 25. My sister suggested NyQuil for sore throats because allergies can cause sore throats. I drank Coke lunch and dinner. I took a nap 5:30pm-8:30pm. No gym.

Sat Apr 28. Back to cooler below normal spring weather. I needed two blankets when I sleep. I wore a sweatshirt and long pajamas pants the entire day. Temperatures in the 60s daytime and 50s nighttime which was fortunate because my body is weak adjusting to big temperature range between daytime and nighttime such as 80s daytime and 50s nighttime. My throat felt worse falling asleep. I ate two bread and cashews. I fell asleep in approximately 15 minutes.

Sun Apr 29. I felt phlegm down my throat. It meant less sore throat pain. On the other hand, my past sicknesses a sore throat and phlegm down my throat were precursors to getting full sickness. I took a nap 4:00pm-7:00pm.

Mon Apr 30. I woke up with a stuffy nose. Phlegm down my throat intensified. I stayed warm wearing my indoor jacket. My room was stuffy. I opened the window. The cool breeze caused runny nose. I felt cold. I closed the windows leaving a small opening. I took a nap 5:00pm-8:00pm.

I desired to workout at the gym. My target date was Wed May 2. I feared coughing begins on Fri May 4. If true, then I experienced two sicknesses and Angular Cheilitis which started on Sun Apr 22 in four months. Bad health year-to-date. I couldn't sleep because my nose was stuffy. I placed a Breathe Right strip on top of my nose. I took a Zyrtec at 2am. I sat on my desk for 45 minutes for the Zyrtec to take effect. Zyrtec worked.

Tue May 1. High temperature 72. Low temperature 50. I drank more water because my nose felt dry. I adjusted my clothes depending how hot and cold I felt. I craved salty foods before lunch. I took a nap 4:30pm-7:45pm. I was sensitive to cool breezes. Few phlegm down my throat; however, phlegm intensified at night. Ears plugged up. I wore shorts instead of long pajamas pants after I showered. I breathe better when I went to sleep at 2am. No Breathe Right strip. No Zyrtec.

Wed May 2. Phlegm down my throat intensified. Ears plugged up. I fear coughing coming soon again. The first major cough happened after breakfast. I took a nap 3:45pm-6:30pm. White color phlegm removed after I adjusted my throat. It was not a cough. My right ear popped out in the early evening. I biked for 20 minutes and I ran for 20 minutes on the treadmill at the gym.

My fear was realized. I started coughing. I took a Mucinex DM at 4am. My past sicknesses coughing was the last part. I sat on my desk waiting for Mucinex to take effect. It worked. I wore long sleeve pajamas shirt and long pajamas pants in bed. Stuffy nose better compared to Mon Apr 30. I ate chocolate, cashews, and bread.

I should have taken Mucinex DM when I coughed during my Jan 2018 sicknesses instead of Zyrtec. Zyrtec didn't work. One clue was chocolate calmed my coughs.

Thur May 3. I slept 5:00am-8:00am and 8:30am-10:00am. Random cough here and there. Body continued to struggle adjusting to the warm days and cold nights. I felt cold one minute. I felt hot the next minute. No gym today. I took a Mucinex DM at 4:00pm. Today's lunch was the last time I drank Coke.

I arrived home after running errands. I fully opened the windows in my room. I wore a black colored t-shirt and shorts. Cool breeze. Coughing was light. I felt phlegm down my throat. I coughed out white color phlegm. I switched to a long sleeve pajamas shirt. I felt hot. Coughing stopped.

I read my past sickness blogs. The commonality was sore throat, runny nose and/or stuffy nose, phlegm down my throat, and ending with coughing. My causes were inconsistent: sinus infection, throat infection, allergies, and a respiratory virus. My treatments were inconsistent: Zyrtec, Mucinex DM, antibiotics, or nothing. My home remedies included Coke, chocolate, salty foods, and chocolate milk.

Fri May 4. High temperature 78. Low temperature 52. I slept from 2:00am-8:00am last night. I felt too hot last night. I wore a t-shirt. I took Mucinex DM at 8am. I ate chocolate. I wanted two more hours of sleep. I slept 8:45am-10:00am wearing a sweatshirt and long pajamas pants. Phlegm color white. I wore my indoor black jacket in the morning. I had diarrhea after breakfast. I took a Mucinex DM at 8:45pm.

How Did I Get Sick

Parents Were Sick. Mom had a sore throat and dad had coughing earlier in the week. My luck ran out they passed their sicknesses to me. Probability: 75%.

Thur Apr 26 Nighttime. Night time weather became cooler quickly. I wore a t-shirt and shorts. I noticed the cooler temperatures hours later. I changed to a long sleeve pajamas shirt and a long pajamas pants. Probability: 50%.

Hairdresser Sick Thur Apr 26. Was my hairdresser who gave me my haircut sick? Probability: 30%.

Angular Cheilitis. I went to an Urgent Care to get an antibacterial cream prescription. Nobody was coughing at the Urgent Care center. I don't believe a person can get sick from Angular Cheilitis. I'm not a doctor. Probability: 15%.

Workout On Treadmill Next To Open Door Outside Breeze Tue Apr 24 and Wed Apr 25. I have no problems outdoor breezes and outdoor air drafts. I have problems with indoor air drafts from air conditioning units. Probability: 10%.

Update On A Past Blog

Congratulations on the Golden State Warriors winning the 2018 NBA Finals defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James is still the best basketball player on the planet. However, James can't win a championship alone. He must have at least one strong all-star. He must have support. He must have a strong bench. James didn't have all three. I wrote a blog Top Ten Life Lessons I Learned Watching Sports on Nov 2016. The number one lesson is support. Nobody succeeds alone. James can't succeed alone. James doesn't succeed alone.

Allergies And Coughs January 2018

I started the year getting sick. I blog how I treated myself and the likely causes because I want to reference my treatment the next time I get sick. I didn't panic. I read my past sickness blogs to remind myself what I must do and don't. Coke, chocolate, and rest were my best treatments. Today's blog is minimally edited.

Wed Jan 10, 2018. Dry air. Throat was itchy. I woke up in the middle of the night to open my bedroom window because there was a fire in the fireplace. I slept with the window opened all night.

Thur Jan 11. Mental fatigue. I took a 52 minute nap. I felt better. Full workout at the gym. My throat was itchy before I went to sleep. I slept at 3am because I waited for the room to cool due to the fire in the fireplace.

Fri Jan 12. I took a Zyrtec at 12:10pm. Drank Coke. Troubled sleeping because I was too hot. I removed blankets. Very little coughing. I wanted to take another Zyrtec because mucus dripped down my throat. I couldn't because Zyrtec is taken once every 24 hours.

Sat Jan 13. Throat itched all day. Little coughing. I ate Ghirardelli chocolate squares which soothed my throat. Went to bed at 3am.

Sun Jan 14. High 70 degrees and low 48 degrees. I took a Zyrtec at 12:00pm. Fireplace was active. Little cough. Throat itchy. I baked brownies because I craved chocolate. I thought about my past sicknesses chocolate worked to soothe my throat. I washed my blankets. I slept with new bed sheets.

Mon Jan 15. High 66 and low 52. I lost my voice. I took a Zyrtec at 12:00pm. Small yellow color phlegm coughed out. I took at nap 5pm-8pm. I fear my sickness wasn't getting worse. The worse was coming soon. I went to bed at 12am. One long cough woke me up. I fell asleep at 4am.

Tue Jan 16. High 67 and low 49. I woke up at 6:15am coughing. The fear was realized. I took at Zyrtec at 6:50am being desperate. Ghirardelli dark chocolate 60% cacao and brownies didn't help. I felt bloated drinking water.

I read my last sicknesses blog Allergies And Coughs October 2016. My recovery started on the seventh day after visiting an urgent care center. Today was day six. Coughed out small phlegm yellow color. Took a nap at 10am and at 2:30pm. My cough intensified waking up due to phlegm. I wanted to take Zyrtec. I saved Zyrtec before I slept and at least 12 hours the last time I took Zyrtec at 6:50am.

I went to bed at 1am. I coughed at 2:45am. I took Zyrtec at 3am. I coughed major at 4:55am. Zyrtec stopped working? I said to myself, "don't play doctor." If my sickness got worse, then I visit an urgent care center. I ate two slices of bread and a brownie. Felt a little bloated. I watched TV. I went to bed at 6am. I kept the lamp on.

Wed Jan 17. High 65 and low 50. No medications today. I toughed it out. Runny nose. Stuffy nose woke up me. Sneezing. All three were minimized after eating breakfast. Coughing minimized. Yellow colored phlegm. No afternoon nap. My plan was to sleep before 12am to begin a consistent weeknight normal sleep pattern. I went to bed at 1am. Coughing. Drank water. Coughing reduced. I ate two slices of bread, brownie, and cashews at 2am. I applied a Breathe Right strip on my nose at 4:30am.

Thur Jan 18. High 63 and low 47. Phlegm yellow color. Woke up at 9:30am with a long cough. I continued taking no medicine. I watched my water intake making sure I didn't get bloated. I woke up again at 11:00am half slept and half awoke. There were more long coughs. I told my body I'm on my own. I went to bed at 2:30am after eating bread, brownies, and cashews waiting for the room to cool. The fireplace was active earlier.

Fri Jan 19. High 56 and low 40. I thought about Zyrtec before going to bed. The mystery continued what sickness I had. I woke up at 10am. I cleaned my room. I vacuumed the mattress removing the white specks from my mattress pad. I coughed more. Throat dripping phlegm got worse. I drank less water. I slept with new bed sheets. I wore new pajamas. If I slept poorly, then I take a Zyrtec tomorrow. Fireplace was active. I opened my windows to cool the room. I planned to visit the urgent care center on Mon Jan 22 if no improvement.

Sat Jan 20. High 58 and low 42. Best sleep since Mon Jan 15. Chocolate had been working. I stopped drinking Coke. I took a Zyrtec at 10:30pm. Phlegm color yellow. Coughing minimal throughout the day; however, I coughed more taking the Zyrtec. I washed jackets. I ate chocolate before going to sleep.

Sun Jan 21. High 58 and low 46. Zyrtec was mixed results. I slept in two phases. No phlegm down my throat. Let's see how the Zyrtec worked today. I coughed out phlegm yellow color three times before 11:40am. I debated taking another Zyrtec at 10:30pm. I could take it tomorrow at 10:30pm if I couldn't sleep tonight. Coughs were here and there. There was nothing to worry. I must sleep to recover. I gained three pounds due to lack of sleep and lack of exercise.

Mon Jan 22. High 60 and low 44. I woke up two times due to bad coughs. Ate Ghirardelli chocolate. I feel asleep. I took it easy. Afternoons naps. No Zyrtec. If I didn't improve before Fri Jan 26, then I visit an urgent care center. One major cough and a few minor coughs in the morning. I could deal with daytime phlegm down my throat because it helped me recover. I couldn't deal with nighttime phlegm down my throat because I couldn't sleep. Coughs good daytime. Coughs bad nighttime.

I reviewed my sicknesses blog Allergies And Coughs October 2016 again. I was inconsistent taking Zyrtec in Oct 2016. Perhaps I should be consistent. I took a Zyrtec at 11:30pm starting today for the week. Coughs were few today. I felt phlegm down my throat. I couldn't drink water today because I felt bloated. I had been eating Jell-O for a few days. I desired to go back to the gym. I didn't know what day. My answer was when I start getting good sleep.

Tue Jan 23. High 59 and low 42. Setback. I woke up twice because of two long coughs. I ate multiple Ghirardelli chocolates squares to calm down. I stopped taking Zyrtec. Fri Jan 26 visit to urgent care center if I got worse was still a go. Coughs unproductive no phlegm in the morning. The afternoon coughing improved with light yellow phlegm. I went back to old school recovery my body took care of itself recovering. itself. Zyrtec doubtful. Perhaps I needed to eat a meal before I took a Zyrtec. Trial and error. I ate two slices of bread and cashews before I slept.

Wed Jan 24. High 59 and low 43. I was in bed 12am to 12pm. I slept for ten hours last night. Best sleep. No Zyrtec. I woke up once last night. I ate Ghirardelli squares. I went back to sleep. Phlegm light yellow color. Two coughs in the afternoon. Fireplace was active. Cough intensified at night. I ate Cadbury chocolate to temporarily relieve my cough.

Fri Jan 26. High 57 and low 38. Went to bed at 2am. I woke up at 9am. I went back to sleep. I woke up at 11:50am. Target day to go back to the gym was Mon Jan 29. One major cough last night before I slept. One Cadbury chocolate square calmed me. Fireplace was active. I opened my bedroom window upstairs. Phlegm was active at night. Minor coughing when exposed to the fire.

Sat Jan 27. High 62 and low 42. Slept without interruption. Throat felt dry. I slept at 1am. I woke up at 9:30am. No coughing. Air still dried. Rare cough when phlegm down my throat. I drank chocolate milk. More random coughs at nighttime. There was a major cough in the morning before I brushed my teeth. I didn't brush my teeth before I went to bed just in case I needed to eat Cadbury chocolate. I should have brushed my teeth.

Sun Jan 28. High 67 and low 43. I still had sensitivity to cold. Cold made me cough. I slept with four blankets last night. Cough went down. My throat was dry when I woke up. I still had sensitivity to dry air. No interruptions sleeping last night from 1:30am-12pm. Phlegm color was white.

Mon Jan 29. High 67 and low 48. I slept from 2am to 11am. No interruptions. Extra sleep continued during the week. One cough in the morning. One cough in the afternoon. Wed Jan 31. High 68 and low 47. I slept from 12:30am to 10:45am. It took a long time to fall asleep. I was too warm. I opened the window for 30 minutes. I woke up in the middle of the night needing another blanket from three blankets to four blankets. Throat felt like sandpaper when the air was dry. Drank water. Body still sensitive to cold. I didn't have the "I like cold" feeling. Phlegm color white.

Thur Feb 1. High 73 and low 50. I slept from 12:45am to 10:30am. I still took time to fall asleep. The window opened at night before I went to bed helped me fall asleep. The temperature differences between the highs and lows were a concern because my body had difficulty adjusting to warm days and cold nights. I must establish a normal sleep routine soon. I didn't want to continue adjusting next week. Maybe sickness recovery a factor? Phlegm color white.

Fri Feb 2. High 74 and low 50. I slept from 12:15am to 10:30am. I woke up at 6:40am because I thought of a blog idea. Troubled getting back to sleep. I needed a fourth blanket momentarily. Phlegm color white.

Sat Feb 3. High 76 and low 52. I slept with four blankets last night. I wore jeans and two short sleeve shirts during errands. I wore a t-shirt and shorts at home during the day. I opened the windows fully before I went to sleep. Phlegm color white.

Thur Feb 8. High 77 and low 49. I slept 12:15am-11:15am. I was too hot last night. I woke up early in the morning because I heard dad's alarm. I had trouble getting back to sleep. I removed one blanket resulting in sleeping with one blanket and a bed sheet. Temperature range 70-40 was as bad as 80-50.

Fri Feb 9. High 78 and low 49. I slept 12:15am-11:00am. I started sleeping with two blankets. I needed an extra blanket in the middle of the night. There was phlegm down my throat three instances. I ate chocolate to soothe my throat.

How Did I Get Sick

Frozen Pork Meals. The family didn't eat fresh meals on Sun Jan 14. Eating poor meals could contribute to a sickness which has in the past. My sickness symptoms started on Mon Jan 10. My sickness intensified on Mon Jan 15. Probability: 75%.

Side note: I experience sick like symptoms when I ate Mexican Oregano two times in early Mar 2018. I drank Coke for one day or two days. Symptoms disappeared.

Fireplace Active. The wood burning stove at the fireplace was burning wood. My room was too hot. The air was dry. I opened the windows to cool the room. I slept with the windows opened. I should have set a timer to wake up in the middle of the night to close the windows to prevent sleeping in too cold conditions. Probability: 60%.

It Was In The Air. Everyone was getting sick. Probability: 40%.

Mattress Pad. I didn't realize my mattress pad was breaking apart. I might have been inhaling the white specks. There was a blessing in disguise. I vacuumed my mattress removing the specks. I removed the pad. I don't sleep with a mattress pad currently. Probability: 20%.

Too Much Time On The Computer. I got sick of all the times I stayed up late on the internet. I have been staying up late on the internet in the past; fortunately, staying up is irregular. Probability: 15%.

Throwback Blog: Me Versus My Throat Infection And Eye Infection

Blogger’s Note: Throwback blogs are blogs from my past. I start posting past blogs reflecting what I wrote. It's like my "A Second Look" blogs for which I give myself feedback.

Today's throwback blog is titled Me Versus My Throat Infection And Eye Infection in Aug 2014. I remind myself following my basic taking care of myself minimize my chances of getting sick. They are drinking soda when I eat spicy food, preparing myself for hot days and cold nights or a 30 degree temperature difference in a day, eating three meals a day, sleeping at least eight hours a night, maintaining a clean residence, and avoiding sick people. Moreover, I stopped drinking water from the Brita water filter.

I was sick in May-Jun 2014 with a throat infection and an eye infection. My symptoms were a sore throat, coughing, difficulty sleeping, and sensitivity to hot days and cold nights. I didn't have bronchitis, a sinus infection, and the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The last time I got a throat infection was Oct 2016.

Blogger's note: The blog entry is written with limited editing for grammar and content.

I experienced the worse sickness in my life. If I said worse sickness in past sickness blogs, then all the past sickness were nothing compared to my throat and eye infections. I followed my procedures to recover from a sinus infection to my throat infection which failed. I didn't know I had a throat infection before seeing a doctor. The eye infection was not a result from my throat infection according to my doctor. The last major sickness excluding stomach flues happened on Nov 2012.

Here's the timeline to remember how I recovered from a throat infection the next time it happens. I hope not. The second section lists the probable events that caused my sickness. The third section lists the days I applied eye drops.

Mon May 5-Thur May 8. Mild sore throat. The recovery was longer than expected. Weird.

Fri May 9-Sat May 10. Mild runny nose.

Sun May 11. Coughing. I had trouble sleeping. I woke up at 3:30am Mon May 12 feeling cold. I added an extra blanket, changed to full pajamas, and closed the window.

Mon May 12. Body experienced trouble adopting to today's weather. I felt either too hot or too cold. Little coughing. Little phlegm. I experienced another sore throat. I started to eat yogurt.

Tue May 13. Sore throat bothered me. Coughing subsided. Yogurt and Coke. Trouble sleeping. Too much coughing in bed.

Wed May 14. I was hot when I woke up. Sore throat irritated me. The sickness was taking too long to recover. Too prolonged. Too mild.

I drank lots of water at work. I lost my voice. Coughing was unproductive. My body wanted to cough out phlegm. Failed. Post nasal drip severe. It was the hottest day of the year. No yogurt. My sickness was slow, developing, and progressing.

Very little sleep because the house was too hot. The windows were fully opened.

Thur May 15. I ate a small breakfast. I wanted to go home at 2pm. No go. I felt good in the morning. I didn't feel good in the afternoon. More coughing especially in the evening. There must be something in the middle of the day or evening to trigger my coughing.

I turned on the humidifier before I went to bed. The air was dry. There were no water drops at the opening. I chewed gum hoping the coughing stopped. Failed. I coughed phlegm with blood. Mild bloody nose. I sweated. I coughed when I'm lying on my sides on my bed. I didn't cough when I'm lying on my back or stomach on my bed. I couldn't sleep the entire night. I watched Aliens and Saving Private Ryan movies. It was the second time I worried my sickness cause major health problems very soon.

Fri May 16. Think cold. I was counter intuitive to being warm to reduce coughing. I purchased Mucinex DM before work. The tablets helped a little.

Three bloody noses at work. It was really warm. It was me. I was too heat sensitive. I should have checked the air conditioning system. There were headaches and fatigue moments.

I ate yogurt and drank coke. I ate Jell-o. Coughing continued in the evening. My left eye was watery and red. I applied Visine.

Sat May 17. My left eye discharged a mucus like substance. Enough was enough. I planned to visit the Urgent Care Center I visited back in Mar 2011 after work. One of my co-workers said my left eye was red the entire day.

The doctor said I didn't have bronchitis, a sinus infection, and the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). There were no symptoms that indicated my common past sicknesses; for instance, no stuffy nose and no runny nose. I had a throat infection. The symptoms included a throat irritation, not a sore throat, because I can swallow without pain. It was true because I never mentioned throat pain when eating and drinking since I was sick. The doctor said I expect a full recovery. I could stop taking Mucinex DM and start taking cough suppressant instead.

The doctor prescribed ophthalmic antibiotic eye drops for my eyes. I had a bacterial eye infection. I picked up the eye drops at the nearest Walgreens which closed at 10pm on Sat's.

I tried Ricola before I went to bed. No go. Coughing got worse. I took Mucinex DM at 4:45am on Sun May 18.

Best sleep since I got sick. Two hours total. I gotten used to long nights without sleep. I continued Mucinex DM for my cough. I coughed a lot the entire day.

Lesson learned. Don't play doctor. I made the correct choice to see a doctor. The timing and circumstances convinced me to get help.

Sun May 18. I continued the eye drops and Mucinex DM. I thought when I stop taking Mucinex DM because I want my body to fight back without medications. My throat was irritated. I slept for five hours.

Mon May 19. I stopped drinking water from the Brita water filter. I started drinking Crystal Geyser. My mucus went from dark yellow and green to light yellow.

I had trouble sleeping. I considered stopping eye drops and Mucinex DM. I took Mucinex DM at 3am Tue May 19. I stayed awake. I was desperate to do anything now.

Tue May 20. I called in sick at work. My right eye was infected. I stopped yogurt. I slept from the late morning to early afternoon. I started to drink ginger ale. My mucus was light yellow. I coughed to the point I spit out phlegm.

I slept four hours at night.

Wed May 21. I went back to work. Mucus was light yellow. My coughing was worse in the afternoon and evenings. Why?

I continued to drink ginger ale. I slept with a Breathe Right Strip. Best sleep of the month so far even though I woke up intermediately because of productive coughs.

Thur May 22. I began drinking cold chilled water instead of room temperature water at work. Mucus continued light yellow and some mucus clear white.

Fri May 23. My right eye showed infection again. Discharge. More eye drops. Coughing went down in the afternoon and evening.

Best sleep of the week. There were long stretches I slept. I took a long time to fall asleep because the coughing intensified. There was no post nasal drip. Could it be the bacterial infection from my right eye?

Sat May 24. I felt a bump on my left eye. It seemed I wasn't fully healed. I applied eye drops to both eyes. Phlegm was white color.

Sun May 25. I cleaned the house. I dusted my room. I changed the bedsheets. I washed my blankets.

I slept for at least eight hours without waking up. Phlegm was white color.

Mon May 26. The chilled Arrowhead bottle water tasted bad. I removed all of them. Coughing subsided. Phlegm was light yellow to white colors.

Tue May 27. Coughing continued subsiding. Still phlegm.

Sat May 31. Began stretching exercises.

Mon Jun 2. I took two naps. Coughing was random. There was post nasal drip.

Thur Jun 5. Applied eye drops. Coughing was coming back.

Fri Jun 6. I called my primary care physician. The doctor was booked solid. No go. I didn't want to visit the Urgent Care Center back on Sat May 17. Too much coughing in the morning. I considered calling in sick. I didn't.

I looked at my side view mirror at a stop light. I said to myself, "Body, you're going to fucking recover!"

I ate Cadbury Milk Chocolate in the evening. There was past success eating chocolate to calm my cough.

Sat Jun 7. My throat started to feel normal when swallowing. It was hard to explain. It was neither sore nor an irritation. I began a light workout at the gym consisting of walking on the treadmill, bench press, and selected machines.

Mon Jun 9. I stopped drinking Ovaltine for breakfast. I forgot to mention I drank Ovaltine for a month during breakfasts. I also stopped eating Cadbury Milk Chocolate.

Mon Jun 30. A full gym workout.

What Were The Causes For My Infections?

Let's take a look at all possibilities. Some of them are more likely than others.

*Ate burrito during Mother's Day with family. I ate a burrito at a restaurant that was spicier than I thought. I didn't drink soda.

*Too cold sleeping conditions. I neglected to check my bedroom conditions before I went to bed. The conditions included the number of blankets, windows opened or closed, shorts or pants, and no shower. I sleep better after taking a shower.

*Inconsistent weather temperatures. There were days of unseasonably cold weather and unseasonably hot weather. My body fails adjusting to a wide range of temperature changes in a short time span.

*Skipped lunch. Inconsistent meal times. I skipped a lunch because there was too much work.

*Fatigue. I didn't get enough sleep.

*Sick from co-workers. The sickness was in the company. Other co-workers had been recovering.

*Allergies. I say they were less likely looking back because I didn't have a sinus infection.

*Mosquito bites. There was multiple bites on my lower legs.

*Dermatitis. I say 0% chance.

*Thai spicy food. The guys and I ate Thai on Fri May 2. The medium spice level was too spicy for me. I drank soda.

I say the throat and eye infections were a perfect sickness. Everything that caused me to get sick happened.

Wrap Up 2016 Pics

I wrap up the 2016 year in pictures. I hope 2017 brings more pictures. Eating garlic tater tots for the first time. Maybe I order them frozen delivered to an Amazon locker or I order more watching a Dodgers game at AT&T Park hearing Vin Scully. I play Munchkin at home because I was sick. I studied the spinal column waiting for the doctor. Proverbs can’t save Office Depot from closing stores. Gregg Popovich for USA President minimizes business closers. I recycle all my drugs because I don’t need them when I eat property prepared Chinese roast pork.

Allergies And Coughs October 2016

I was sick and I wasn't sick. I experienced a throat infection which healed itself using Zyrtec. It appeared to be an allergy infection on the throat. Coughing was so-so. I log my treatment to remember the next time I experience a sore throat and cough. I also note the likely causes with a percentage probability under "How Did I Get Sick?".

Fri Oct 21, 2016. Itchy throat came and went at night. I drank water which temporary relives the itchiness. Total sleep time was 10 hours.

Sat Oct 22. I woke up early in the morning with a sore throat. I took a Chloraseptic sore throat lozenge. I started drinking Coke. Total sleep time was nine hours last night.

Sun Oct 23. I took another Chloraseptic sore throat lozenge. I took a two hour nap in the afternoon. I thought of allergies like July 2011 when I was in Los Angeles.

Mon Oct 24. I took another Chloraseptic. Light coughing began because of post nasal drip. I took a GasX for bloating. I drank Coke. I slept 10 hours last night without coughing was a good sign my sickness was not serious.

I wondered if my water bottle I use to cool room temperature Crystal Geyser bottle water in the refrigerator I never cleaned was a cause.

Tue Oct 25. Night coughing began last night because of post nasal drip. Total sleep time was six hours. Sore throat was gone. I drank Coke for lunch and dinner. Phlegm color was white.

Wed Oct 26. I turned on the humidifier at 6:10am. I immediately slept. My post nasal drip intensified in the afternoon. I lost my voice. Weather was terrible with 80s in the daytime and 50s in the nighttime. My body experienced difficult adjusting the big difference in highs and lows.

Thur Oct 27. I slept last night at a 45 degree angle. I turned off the humidifier. I immediately slept. I took a Mucinex DM at 9:30am. Coughed up yellow color thick phlegm. I resumed drinking Coke for lunch and dinner. I experienced diarrhea because of a Mucinex side effect and I drank too much water.

Enough was enough. I went to my favorite Urgent Care Center. It didn't accept my new insurance plan. I call my primary care physician tomorrow morning. I was forced to tough it out another night for which I couldn't sleep between 2am and 6am because post nasal drip kept me coughing. No more humidifier.

Fri Oct 28. My primary care physician was on vacation. I went to another urgent care center which accepted my new insurance.

The physician assistant found nothing serious. My throat was recovering. My throat was neither sore nor red as I thought. She told me to take Zyrtec to control post nasal drip. Stop taking Mucinex. I have a virus in recovery. No bacterial infection.

I slept good. I woke up to coughing in the late evening. I drank water. I went back to sleep.

Sat Oct 29. Post nasal drip improved. Coughing became occasional. The coughing was nothing in comparison to past sicknesses. It was cough and done. I craved to eat more. I splurged eating candy.

Sun Oct 30. I washed my blankets, mattress protector, and pillow protector. I dusted my room, my mattress, and behind my bed. I replaced my old sheets with clean sheets.

I slept with a minor problem last night. I felt warm. I slept with one blanket. I fell asleep. Total time was seven hours.

Mon Oct 31. I slept 10.5 hours last night. Best sleep in a week. I woke up when my throat was dried. I coughed less in bed. Post nasal drip improved in the evening.

Tue Nov 1. I slept 9.5 hours straight without waking up last night. Post nasal drip causing me to cough decreased. I ate yogurt in the afternoon. I kept myself warm to cough less. Unfortunately, post nasal drip and coughing intensified at night and falling asleep.

Wed Nov 2. I slept nine hours last night. I woke up when my throat or mouth was dried. I drank water. Post nasal drip didn't cause me to cough. I stopped taking Zyrtec.

Thur Nov 3. No dry throat while I slept eight hours last night. Feeling cold aggravated my post nasal drip. I felt great for hours. The seconds of post nasal drip irritated my throat I coughed nonstop for a minute.

The morning and evening were too cold. I wore long sleeve shirt and pajamas. The afternoon was too warm. I wore a t-shirt and shorts. The temperatures were 75 for the high and 51 for the low.

I took a Zyrtec at 8:35pm. I worked out at the gym doing an easy walk on the tread mill at 10:20pm.

Fri Nov 4. I slept for nine hours last night uninterrupted. No dry throat. The temperatures were 77 for the high and 51 for the low. I took a one hour nap because I experienced a headache. I continued taking Zyrtec.

Sat Nov 5. 73 high and 55 low temperatures. Another good sleep last night totaling nine hours without a dry throat.

Sun Nov 6. 74 high and 55 low temperatures. I slept nine hours plus one hour because of daylight standard time last night. Post nasal with coughing came and went. Phlegm color was white. I continued taking Zyrtec at 10:30pm.

Mon Nov 7. I slept for seven hours last night. I woke up twice because of a dry throat. The high was 75 and the low was 57. I wore a sweatshirt at night while I cooked. I was too warm. I wore my sweatshirt around my shoulders. I took a Zyrtec at 10:45pm.

Tue Nov 8. 77 was the high and 55 was the low. I ate two pieces of bread before I went to bed. No post nasal drip problems while I fell asleep.

Wed Nov 9. Unseasonably warm mild weather continued. 77 was the high and 55 was the low. I took a Zyrtec at midnight Thur Nov 10 because I forgot to take it earlier. Gym workouts continued walking on the treadmill to stay physically active. The air was dry.

Thur Nov 10. Temperatures reached a high of 79 and a low of 56. I slept last night 8.5 hours with a bed sheet and one blanket. Was my warm body heat sensitive coming back? No post nasal drip and coughing.

Fri Nov 11. Temperatures reached a high of 77 and a low of 56. I slept last night 8.5 hours. No post nasal drip and coughing. I worked out at the gym with the machines weights one set only.

Sat Nov 12. Temperatures reached a high of 75 and a low of 52. No post nasal drip last night because I ate two slices of bread before I went to bed? I experience my throat was dry and post nasal drip once.

Sun Nov 13. I experienced post nasal drip and dry throat in the late morning. I drank water. I felt good.

Mon Nov 14. Temperatures were going down at a high of 69 and a low of 52. The highs and lows didn't matter. The difference between the highs and lows matters. Also, where the difference between the highs and lows matters. A temperature range between 100 and 80 doesn't matter to me. A temperature range between 70 and 50 does matter to me.

I adjusted my Zyrtec schedule to take one at noon. When did I stop taking Zyrtec? Was the answer cooler temperatures and/or consistent weather? No more post nasal drip? No more dry air? Post nasal drips stopped when I drink water, eat my meals, and stay warm in the evening.

Tue Nov 15. Temperatures continued going down at a high of 68 and a low of 50. I experienced one post nasal drip attack with lots of coughing. The air was extremely dry.

Wed Nov 16. I slept nine hours last night. Weather got cooler and consistent. The high was 64 and the low was 43.

Sat Nov 19. I took a Zyrtec at noon. I stopped taking Zyrtec on Thur Nov 17. The weather warmed up to 73 as the high and 54 as the low.

Fri Nov 25. Post nasal drip and coughing came back. I took a Zyrtec at 1:30pm. I doubted eating stale Oreo cookies and Goldfish, drinking old Coke, and my nephew recovering from his sickness caused me to cough.

Sat Nov 26. I took a Zyrtec at 2:00pm. Air was dry. I drank water when my throat felt dry. I drank Coke when I ate lunch and dinner.

Sun Nov 27. A brief strong cough happened at 1:00pm. I took a Zyrtec at 2:00pm. I continued drinking Coke eating lunch and dinner.

Mon Nov 28. There were a few post nasal drip and coughing while I slept last night. I cleaned the house. I vacuumed my sister's dog fur in the living room and family room. Did the dog shedding fur cause my second allergy attack? I continued taking Zyrtec at 2:00pm. I stopped drinking Coke.

Tue Nov 29. Good sleep last night. Coughs were few. Phlegm color was white. I took a 20 minute nap.

Wed Nov 30. I experienced trouble sleeping last night which included waking up to cough. I slept for eight hours. Post nasal drip and coughing happened when I felt cold. Possible relapse becoming sick again like May 2015? I resumed drinking Coke for lunch and dinner.

Thur Dec 1. One cough woke up me last night. One cough in the afternoon. I took a Zyrtec at 2:45pm.

Fri Dec 2. I took a Zyrtec at 3:00pm. I continued drinking Coke. All was good.

Sat Dec 3. I took a Zyrtec at 4:00pm. One cough in the morning. I was cold which was good. No more 70s temperatures.

Mon Dec 5. I took a Zyrtec and drank Coke for lunch as a precaution. It turned out today was the last day I took a Zyrtec.

How Did I Get Sick?

Expired ginger ale. I drank the ginger ale on Thur Oct 20. Probability: 10%.

New bread. I ate Artesano bread for the first time on Fri Oct 21. Probability: 10%.

Chiptole chicken bowl mild spiced salsa. Chiptole has been in the news regarding food safety. Personally, I never experienced any food sickness. The mild spice was the spiciest I ate on Sun Oct 16. I didn't drink soda. The bowl must be considered. Probability: 20%.

The smelly person at the gym. There is a gym member with bad body odor walking on the treadmill. I was on the stationary bike. I moved to another bike further away from the gym member minutes after the smell discovery. The time I was closer to the gym member might have been enough to contract a virus from him. Probability: 40%.

Unseasonably warm weather. The weather was mild and unseasonably warm in Oct and Nov weather. My body is weak adjusting to a daily big temperature differences. For example, daytime temperatures in the 80s and nighttime temperatures in the 50s confuse my body. Probability: 50%.

Similarly, dry air and stagnant air causes my body to feel like I'm in a desert. Probability: 50%.

Skipping meals. I was fatigue starting on Mon Oct 17. I ate inadequate meals starting on Sun Oct 16. Probability: 80%.

No More Making The Same Mistake

I must eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I never skip meals for the rest of my life. I remove all budget restrictions. No more eating cheap when I'm out of the house. No more being picky.

Sore Throat And Runny Nose New Year's Eve 2016

I was sick on New Year's Eve for the fourth time in the last seven New Year's Eve. Fortunately, my sickness was a sore throat and runny nose. Almost all of my sore throats resulted in more serious sicknesses. I log my treatment to remember the next time I experience a sore throat and runny nose. I also note the likely causes.

Mon Dec 28, 2015. I overstuffed myself eating leftovers from the Christmas dinner because I skipped a meal. I almost threw up twice.

Tue Dec 29. My throat felt dry in the movie theater during the morning. I got a sore throat in the afternoon. My nose was stuffy. I drank hot chocolate in the afternoon. I drank Coke starting in the afternoon.

I experienced trouble sleeping. I applied a Breathe Right nasal strip. I sucked a sore throat lozenge in bed.

Wed Dec 30. Sore throat improved. I took an afternoon nap. I drank hot chocolate for breakfast. I drank Coke for lunch and dinner.

I coughed four times. I was concerned my sickness became worse. I didn't panic. My nose experienced either runny nose or stuffy nose many times. I slept with a Breathe Right nasal strip.

Thur Dec 31. My sore throat was gone in the afternoon. I continued drinking Coke. Stuffy nose and runny nose were reduced. Slept good wearing a Breathe Right nasal strip.

Fri Jan 1, 2016. I continued rest. I continued drinking Coke during the weekend. I stopped wearing a Breathe Right nasal strip when I slept.

How Did I Get Sick?

Throat Irritation From Almost Throwing Up. My throat caught something when I almost threw up twice. The potential vomit reached above my throat. Vomit bacteria?

Food Allergy. The leftovers I ate Mon Dec 28, 2015 tasted funny. Maybe I didn't heat the leftovers hot enough. A higher probability was Costco Cranberry Juice Cocktail. I got sick in the past drinking the cocktail.

In The Air. The winter time causes people to get sick. I could have gotten something from another person in the movie theater. The air had been dry.

Family. My brother and my sister in-law had a sore throat. My nephew was sick when my brother's family came over for the Christmas holiday.

Nostalgia Atari 2600 And Wine Pallets

I played the Atari 2600 when I was a kid. I didn't clean the cartridges with rubbing alcohol. I read comics eating a burrito and drinking wine on a clean counter looking outside on a partly cloudy cool day.

Me Versus My Throat Infection And Eye Infection
